Proving Her Wrong

*Y/n's POV*

Y/n and Lucent stood in an open field next to the park. They had just gotten back from their date and returned home, only to find out that Rosemon was going to start training them. Rosemon decided to see if they could BioMerge under different conditions, other than the need to protect the one which matters most to them.

Y/n felt tense. Not as tense as taking finals during the last day of the school year, but still felt tense. She didn't even think her and Lucent could BioMerge on other conditions besides to protect the one who matters most. Because of love. She doubted it could even work.

Lucent could tell that Y/n didn't feel right about the whole BioMerge situation with Rosemon wanting to see if they could BioMerge for other situations. Little did Lucent and Y/n know, such a situation would be happening soon.

"I know you two don't feel comfortable about this," said Rosemon. "But you need to learn to BioMerge outside the need to fight. You need to do so with the need to survive. We all know Tears are unpredictable events that occur and there is currently no way to predict or prevent the nexts one from happening. So in the unforseen events in which a Tear sends you both into the Digital World, I want you both to be prepared."

"What makes you think that Y/n and I will end up in tbe Digital World?" Lucent asks.

"Tears act as portals between the Earth and the Digital World. Even us Digimon still don't know what causes them but we know they became more common once the humans invented the internet," said Rosemon.

A "You've got to be kidding me!" look appears in both Y/n's and Lucent's face.

"So to a sense, because of one human, the Tears became more frequent to happen between our worlds. Just think of it this way, I wouldn't have been able to meet Lucent when I did," said Y/n with a smile.

"You can think of it that way. But until a way is found to make the Tears less frequent again, there will still be problems with evil Digimon," said Rosemon. A rose-thorn whip appears in her right hand. "Now let's see if you two can...." Rosemon gets distracted by movement. She could see someone coming their way. "Never mind on the lesson. Seems we have an unwanted guest." Rosemon turns back to her human disguise, Emma Stone.

It didn't take Y/n long to recognize who it was. It was Missy, the girl who had everything she could ask her rich dad for, but couldn't have a Digimon for a partner. "This may become a problem," said Y/n before before starts advancing towards the direction where Missy is coming from.

*Lucemon FM's POV*

Emma looks over to Lucent. "Mind explaining what happened between those two?" Emma asks.

"Missy, that girl who is coming our way, wants me to be her Digimon partner. Problem is that I'm already Y/n's. She's already tried to offer Y/n money to buy me. It won't do any good. I doubt she'll be compatible to BioMerge," said Lucent.

"Then I suggest you show that human that she can never have you. You are Y/n's partner. And by now, more than that. I can tell that you bond is very strong."

Lucent glances at Emma, processing what she had just said. "Then let's show Missy why she cannot have me." He walks towards Y/n, spreading his wings out, giving himself a more intimidating presence to scare Missy. "I'm saying this for the last time, stay away from us you damn brat!!" Lucent hissed.

"You will not scare me away, Lucent. I will have you as my Digimon partner! It's not fair that you are Y/n's partner," said Missy in a whiny tone as soon as she was within earshot of both Y/n and Lucent.

"Then allow me to give you a demonstration as to why you will never be my partner." Lucent puts his hand on Y/n's shoulder. "Just because you see something you want, doesn't mean you can have it as your own." A blinding light engulfs both Y/n and Lucent.

Missy covers her eyes. After a few minutes she finally uncovers them. Her eyes still hurt from the sudden bright light as they slowly adjusted back to normal. Before her, glaring down at her, was the fusion of Y/n and Lucent. It was the same outfit as last time. The half and half black and white tux with the feathered wings and bat-like wings on the sleeves opposite of each other.

"We'll say this one last time, leave us alone and leave Lucent alone. You can never have him or be his partner. This is proof enough you'll never be compatible with him because of your greed. Digimon are not items to buy in a store. They are living and breathing beings. And this one has already had enough of your effing bullsheit!" The being takes a step towards Missy, causing her to stumble back, leaning closer to her. "I suggest you leave and never bother us again. If I catch you near Y/n or near her home again with ill intent, I'll deal with you myself!"

Missy hurriedly backs away and takes off running from the direction she had came from.

Lucent and Y/n unfuzed and Lucent had to catch Y/n before she fell to the ground. She had almost stumbled over. "Are you okay?" Lucent asks. Y/n's breathing was slightly labored and her skin was a bit pale. Lucent begin to fear the worst for Y/n. Maybe BioMerge wasn't supposed to be used in a normal confrontation, like it was with Missy. Maybe it should only be used in an actual battle?

Lucent picks up Y/n and holds her in his arms. "We may have a problem, Emma!"

"Don't have to tell me twice! Let's get her back home. Her body needs rest after going through that physical strain. We'll know once she wakes if we'll need to take drastic measures."

Lucent heads off back towards Y/n's home, being careful not to jostle her around to much. To a point it made sense. BioMerge for battle created a symbiosis to that they both can fight. But for everyday situations, they both needed to be on the same page for focus. "Hopefully nothing too bad will happen," said Lucent to himself.
