Spending Time at Home (Part 2)

*Y/n's POV*

It was at this point that Y/n really wished she hadn't taken the bike trail home the other day. She was bored out of her mind. She was home alone in her room since Lucent left for who-knows-where. She sighs. "Bored now..." She gets up from her bed, carefully as she could, puts some of her weight on her ankle, seeing if it was alright to head downstairs to grab a bite to eat. She sets her left foot down first then her right and at that point she instantly regrets it. She feels a wave of pain surge through her ankle and sits back down on the bed. She falls back onto the bed waiting for the pain to subside. "Not trying that again anytime soon." Y/n pulls herself back up onto her bed and decides to wait for Lucent to return home.

It didn't take much longer for Y/n to get bored again and try to leave the room. This time she managed to get her dad to help her downstairs. He helps her sit down at the table. "What do you want to eat?" James asks.

Y/n shrugs her shoulders. "I know it's a bit of a hassle to make but how about potato soup? I can help cut and peel the potatoes if you want."

James sits down at the table across from his daughter and looks her in the eyes. "So what do you think brought Lucent back here to our place?"

"Not really sure to tell you the truth."

"I find it rather odd that one of the Seven Lords is here in the first place."

"Seven Lords? Who are they?" Y/n asks.

"The Seven Digimon Lords consist of Lucemon Fallen Mode, Leviamon, Daemon, Balphamon Rage Mode, Barabamon, Beelzemon, and Laylamon. Each one rules over their own domain. Any Digimon they defeat, gets absorbed by them."

"So that's what most likely what happened to that Digitamamon that I ran into on the bike trail. But didn't you and mom fight Daemon in the past when you were kids?"

"We did. But we really didn't defeat him, only weakened him a bit. When your mother and I had last fought Daemon when we were kids, we had a couple of our friends help out in the fight. A few Digimon and a couple other kids who were sent to the Digital World during the Tear that sent your mom and I there."

"So what was it like being in the Digital World?"

James gets up from the table. "Its really different from our own but at the same time similar too. Phone booths at the beach. A refrigerator at the hot springs, random things really." He grabs a some potatoes from the cupboard and sets them on the table. He then sets a bowl in front of Y/n. "Try to get all the peels in the bowl." James then proceeds to tell Y/n more about the Digital World.

After about thirty minutes of peeling potatoes and after that, prepping them for potatoe soup, a commotion catches both James' and Y/n's attention outside the kitchen window. James checks to see what it is. He looks out the kitchen window and sees Lucent with branches and leaves stuck in his wings. "Looks like someone had a crash landing," said James with a laugh.

Y/n couldn't help but laugh as well. "Most likely got caught in a downdraft."

"I'll go let Lucent in then," said James. He gives Y/n a cutting board and some vegetables to cut up before leaving the kitchen.

Y/n returns her focus to the task at hand. After a few minutes she hears Lucent and her father come back into the house. She could hear them talking about something but she wasn't sure what. But from it sounded like, it wasn't good news. Y/n turns in her chair to see them come into the kitchen. "Is something wrong?"

"There's a possibility that more of the Seven Digimon Lords had gotten into our world from the last Tear," said James.

"So there is a possibility that the other Seven Lords could take over the world, right?" Y/n looks over at Lucent, staring daggers at him. "You're not involved in this, are you?"

"No I am not! I was told by Leomon earlier when I was out. How was I supposed to know they would come back to this world!"

"This information would have been more helpful earlier on."

"Hey I tried to get back here as fast as I could til I got caught in that downdraft!"

James leaves the kitchen, leaving Y/n and Lucent to their argument. He chuckles to himself. "Even though they are still friends, they argue like an old married couple."

Later that night, after spending quiet a while arguing with Lucent and him storming out of the house, Y/n returns to her room. Her ankle still hurt quiet a bit. She sits down on her bed, feeling bad for causing Lucent to storm off like he did. "It just doesn't make sense. He is one of the Seven Digimon Lords. Why isn't he a part of the whole fiasco of the last Tear." She falls back onto her bed.

"Its because he loves you," said Ellan as she walks into Y/n's room. "He's trying his hardest to hide his feelings from you."

Y/n glances over to her mom, giving her a confused look. "I don't think it is love. How can a Digimon love a human. It doesn't seem right."

"Love has a way of bringing people and Digimon together. You'll never know how you'll end up together." Ellan sits down next to her daughter. "If it wasn't for that one Tear opening up back when your father and I were kids, we wouldn't have met."

"How old were you guys when you met?"

"We were both thirteen years old. We didn't want anything to do with each other but that wasn't until your father saved my life from Daemon. Once we were able to return home, we stayed friends and then over the years that bond grew." Ellan leans over and kisses her daughter on her forehead. "When Lucent comes back home, apologize to him. You both will need each other for what is yet to come."

Y/n watches her mom get up and leave the room. In her heart she still considered Lucent a friend. She only saw him as that, nothing more. "This world is confusing," Y/n said to herself before taking some pain meds before turning in for the night.
