Change for the Worse

*Y/n's POV*

Y/n and Lucent planned for about a week before taking on Leviamon at the park. Despite the chance of an attack, Y/n still went to school but snuck out late at night with Lucent to decide on their best course of action. But this fight, Lucent wanted to fight alone. He didn't know if they would be able to fuze for this fight so he thought it would be best if Y/n sat this one out.

Y/n was standing at the entrance of the park. The area was evacuated with the help of some Mega level Digimon. SaberLeomon stood guard besides her. "What do you think will happen down there?" Y/n asks.

SaberLeomon, who was asked by Lucent to guard Y/n while he dealt with Leviamon, digs his claws into the ground. "Im not sure. This is a first for us to deal with the Seven Lords in a situation like this. But you humans did stop Daemon's plans to invade Earth before."

"Yeah. My parents, back when they visit the Digital World when they were twelve years old, fought and defeated Daemon. They won't give me the details on the fight except they almost lost their Digimon partners."

"What are your parent's names?"

"Ellan is my mother's name and James is my father's name," said Y/n. "And their Digimon partners were Guilmon and Augumon."

"I see then. Just asking out of curiosity, did your parents have a Digivice or Crest from their partners?"

Y/n shakes her head. "I don't think they did. I still question how Lucent and I fuzed for our fight with Beezelmon."

"Its called Biomerge. Where human and Digimon fuze together to become stronger. Strong as a Mega level Digimon, if not stronger."

*Lucemon FM's POV*

Lucent dives deeper into the water. He could see bubbles floating up from the bottom of the lake where Leviamon slept. The bubbles that escaped from his nose as he slept, were noticed just days ago. The city mayor thought nothing of it until he remembered that the lake in the park was man-made and not natural. The funny thing was that Lucent told the mayor about what would be sleeping at the bottom of the lake, not what was. All the mayor knew he needed to evacuate the area around the lake. Hopefully it was good enough.

Time to wake up sleeping beauty, Lucent thought as hs swam closer to Leviamon before launching his attack. "Grand Cross!!" Ten spheres of light form, in the shape of a crucifix, before launching at Leviamon. The attack lands a hit and stirs Leviamon from his slumber.

"What's this...." Voice gravely sounding from sleep, Leviamon opens one of his eyes to see who attacked him. He opens his eyes fully once he sees its Lucemon FM. "Now isn't this a surprise. Here I thought you'd be back at your castle in the Dark Area and yet here you are, waking me from my slumber." Leviamon moves his legs and body to get a better look at Lucent, who was now swimming rather close to Leviamon. "Now tell me. Why did you attack me? I was having such a wonderful dream."

"You are to leave Earth and return to the Digital World or else I will have no choice to destroy you."

Leviamon laughs which felt more like an earthquake. "Interesting. You never were one to want to protect someone or something. What's changed your mind this time?" Leviamon's jaws slowly open and close as he thinks about what changed Lucent's nature and how he no longer wanted to create a new world from Earth. "Ah I see now. I envy what you have. You changed in order to protect someone. I envy that. Now I want what you have."

Leviamon opens his jaws. "Thunder Breath!!" A gout of fire erupts from Leviamon's jaws, dousing Lucent in fire and heat.

Back on the ground level, bystanders that were still in the area, who should have left before Lucent dove into the lake, point at the lake's surface as it began to boil and froth from the heat from Leviamon's attack. Both SaberLeomon's and Y/n'a attention turns to the lake.

*Y/n's POV*

"This can't be good," said Y/n.

"You need to leave. Lucemon FM said he didn't want you to be a part of tbis fight," said SaberLeomon.

"But he needs my help!" Y/n stomps her foot to emphasize her point.

"Acting like a child will not help Lucemon FM if you die!"

The water at the lakes surface begins to writhe and bubble. Leviamon erupts from the surface. He had Lucent in his jaws. Leviamon climb onto the lake shore, scaring off the remaining bystanders who should have left before hand.

A strange energy envelopes both Lucent and Leviamon. Darkness and shadows congealed around the tip of Leviamon's snout, creating a void of darkness.

"We need to leave now!" SaberLeomon grabs a hold of the back of Y/n's shirt in his jaws and tossed her onto his back. "There's still a chance to live if we leave now. We do not want to get caught in that fight." SaberLeomon starts to run away from the park, leaving Leviamon to deal with Lucent.

When the void of darkness finally disappeared, Leviamon had sustained damage on his jaws while trying to attack Lucent. Lucemon FM was no longer seen. In his spot now stood Lucemon Shadowlord Mode.

Y/n looks back, eyes widen in shock and fear, as SaberLeomon runs away from the park. "Lucent...." She didn't even know about the Shadowlord Mode or what kind of power he held. She was now torn between running away to safety or saving her friend. "We have to go back, SaberLeomon!!"

"Are you crazy?! You will die if you face off against Lucemon Shadowlord Mode. There is no way we can defeat him. Because of the Gehenna, no attacks will be able to harm him! There is no way to stop him. Once Leviamon is defeated, he will turn his sights onto the human world."

"I don't care. My mind is made up. If I die today that's fine if that means I can stop Lucent's rampage," said Y/n as she tugged on SaberLeomon's mane.

"Crazy human," said SaberLeomon under his breath as he turns around and heads back towards the park.
