A Tear in the System (Lucemon FM (Fallen Mode) x Female Reader)

Hello Again

*time skip seven years and a half later*
*Y/n's POV*

Y/n had just got done with school and was talking the bike trail home. She was busy reading a script for the newest school play, A Nightmare Before Christmas. It was the beginning of October so the school was pretty hyped for the play. Scripts were handed out back in September and the play was, if everything goes right, on Halloween. Y/n auditioned for the play, wanting to be a part of it and ended up getting the part of Sally. Her best friend, Eric, got the part of Jack Skellington. She at first thought it was a joke she got the part of Sally and he got the part of Jack. As it turned out, some of the popular kids have been trying to get Y/n and Eric together for months and when they figured out that the next school play was going to be A Nightmare Before Christmas, one of the popular kids made sure they got fliers about the auditions. As it turned out, Y/n was on good standing with the popular kids since had a passion for acting and regularly auditioned for the plays ever since she started high school.

How she got to be such good friends will be another story.

Y/n looks down at the script trying to memorize the lines for Sally's speaking lines when she felt a sudden shift in the air temperature. She looks up st the clouds in the sky which were beginning to pixelated, the starting of a 'Tear'.

If you see a Tear...pixelation in the sky or clouds, run. Do not stick around and see who comes out. Run. Not all Digimon are as friendly as Lucemon...

Y/n recalls her mom's warning. She quickly puts the script away in her backpack  before she takes off running down the bike trail. She was running as fast as she could. She was so focused on getting home, she didn't see a Digitamamon crossing in front of her in the bike path. She ends up running smack dab into it, making herself go airborne. She ends up landing hard on her feet, only a few feet away. She ended up landing hard enough to sprain her right ankle.

"Watch where you are going!!!" Digitamamon snaps. "Stupid kid not watching where you are going. I'll teach you a lesson for disrespecting me. Nightmare Syndrom!!!" Digitamamon launches his attack at Y/n.

Y/n barely gets out of the way. Her leg gets grazed by the attack, causing her to scream out in pain. She looks up and see Digitamamon advancing towards her. "Oh god... " she whimpers.

"I'm going to kill you now."

Y/n closes her eyes, waiting for her impending doom. When she opened her eyes again, she realized she wasn't dead. But the sight before her made her think a nephilim was going to take her away. Standing in front of her, having blocked Digitamamon's attack, was Lucemon FM (Fallen Mode) or in Y/n's case, her old friend Lucent. Y/n's eyes widen in surprise at the sight of her savior.

"I've only been gone for seven years and already you've nearly gotten yourself killed, Y/n," said Lucent.

Y/n peeks around Lucent's leg to check and see if the Digitamamon was still around. She sees where it was but instead if finding any remains, there were only a few floating pixels where the Digimon was once standing. She struggles to her feet, only to end up dropping to one knee when her ankle gives out. She swears under her breath because of the pain. "Why in the hell, of all days, did a Tear have to happen?!!" She struggles to her feet again, holding onto Lucent's arm for support.

"I do recall your parents telling me that Tears can happen randomly," said Lucent. He looks down at Y/n only to find her staring up at him in anger.

"How the hell do you know my parents?!"

Lucent chuckles. "I'm surprised you don't even remember me. As I recall nine years, make that ten years ago once tomorrow is here, you were making a sandcastle in the sandbox."

Y/n gives Lucent a confused look. "I still don't understand..."

"What about Princess Kells, Brandy the dragon and Prince Nivens ring any bells?"

Y/n's eyes widen in surprise when she realized who had saved her. But surprise was replaced by anger and she slaps Lucent right across his face, causing him to let go of her. "You damn brat! Where did you go all those years ago?! You told us you couldn't go back to the Digital World unless another Tear opens up."

Lucent rubs his face where Y/n slapped him. "I never left this world."

"Where did you go?"

"Pretty much everywhere. I traveled mostly here in the States, preferring to stay close to home, in case you needed me."

"My friends thought I was crazy when I told them I was friends with a Digimon. More people have died as a result of the last two Tears..."

"Let's get you home first and you can tell me what happened while I was gone," said Lucent. He picks Y/n up and carries her bridal style. "First tell me what has changed while I was gone."

Y/n proceeds to tell Lucent of what happened to her over the nearly past ten years. She tells him how things changed after he left. How she managed, over the years, to almost get a role in every school play except for when she was eight grade. Which during that year, two Tears opened up. Two Dgimon had attacked the school during that time. It was at that point Lucent decided to change the conversation to another subject.

"So did you get a role in a play at your current school?" Lucent asks as he continues to carry Y/n down the bike trail, back to her home.

"My school, well technically the Theater Club, is working on a play for The Nightmare Before Chirstmas. We plan on having the play on Halloween." It takes about another hour before they got home. Y/n's mom was waiting outside and  was the first to greet her at the door and was very surprised to see Lucemon FM.

*Ellan's POV*

Ellan was surprised to see Lucemon FM carrying her daughter. "Where were you?! Another Tear opened up and who is he?!"

"Mom this is Lucent, he had digivolved since the last time we had seen him," said Y/n. Lucent helps Y/n inside and Ellan follows.

Ellan frowns at her own bad memory. "Here I forgot about that," she laughs sheepishly.

Lucent carefully sets Y/n down, being careful of her ankle. "First things first, Y/n's injury needs to be treated."

"What happened?"

"A Digitamamon attacked and tried to kill me on the bike trail. If it wasn't for Lucent, I'd be dead."

"So the last Tear opened near the bike trail," said Y/n. She hobbles over to a chair to sit down. She pulls up her pant leg and shows her mom what happened. "So where's dad at? Still at work?"

"Yeah. He'll be home later though. I can guarantee he'll want to  talk to Lucent," said Ellan.

"Don't remind me..."

Ellan examines the damage done to her daughter's leg. It was starting to bruise where Digitamamon's attack had grazed her leg. She takes her shoe off so she can see her ankle. It was already swollen and it was hard to tell if was going to bruise. "Help me get Y/n into the car, Lucent. I need to take her to the hospital to make sure Y/n's ankle isn't fractured." Reluctantly Lucent helps Ellan out with getting Y/n into the car. Afterwards, Ellan leaves with her daughter to the hospital. During the drive there, she has a nagging feeling that Lucent was back for an entirely different reason other than to see Y/n again. What are you hiding Lucent, Ellan thinks to herself during the drive to the hosptial.
