Results Part 4

Bruce drew some blood from you and told you to come back at the end of the day for the results.

You sat back at your desk still feeling very unsure why you are staying here. Your work starts when your colleague sends you an email of the day's work.

You get your work face on and just immerse yourself in work.

*knock knock*

You didn't hear as you were concentrating on your work.

Wanda: *place her hands on your shoulder* Hey.

You: Oh shoot. Oh... um..how did you come in?

Wanda: I did knock but you didn't answer. Since the door was not locked, I just...

You look at the door and remember Tony told you that the room was only going to be finished tomorrow.

You: How can I help you?

Wanda: The team just wanted me to check on you since it's already dinner time but you haven't stepped out of the room once.

You looked towards the window and realised that it was already dark.

You: Oh sorry. I tend to just lose myself in work. I'll be down in a minute.

After getting out of the zone of work, you feel really drained. You rub your face and finish the last bit of work before heading down.

You: Hi.

Steve: We received your results already.

You: So... how is it?

Fury: I am here to inform you that you will be working for SHIELD from now on.

You: What? No no no. I am busy enough already, I cannot handle another job and I am not working for SHIELD.

Fury: Well, you will be quitting your other job.

You: What! No, I am not, the job needs me.

Fury: Then, you'll be working both.

You: You're not taking no for an answer huh.

Fury remains silent.

You: Is this how you guys work? Forcefully dragging people here and changing their life, preventing them from leaving? I have enough here.

You run out of the room.

Wanda: Wait.

Fury: Leave it Wanda. She can't leave.

You were so angry that you decided to head home to sleep instead.

As soon as you woke up the next morning,  you knew that you walked into their trap and you can't believe this. They made you move all your stuff to the compound not because they want something from you. It's to make sure you can't leave. They made it harder for you to leave the compound. 

You went back to the compound to work since all your computers and documents are there.

You: Where's Mr Fury?

Tony: He doesn't live here. He should be here soon. Also, your room is done.

You: Thanks.

You sit at your desk with your eyes closed. You were trying to drown yourself with work the past few days and have hardly eaten anything.

You hear a knock on the door and you went to open the door.

Wanda: You're back.

You: It's not like I can leave this place.

Wanda: You alright? You look really tired.

You: Yeah. I just woke up, that's why. Haven't had my coffee.

Wanda: Why don't I help you get it. It's almost your audit work time anyways.

You: Thanks.

You reluctantly accepted her offer since office hours were about to start.

You tried to start work but you feel your heart beat getting faster, getting a little out of breath and dizzy, unable to focus on your screen. You try to shake it off and breathe but your eyelids start getting heavier and heavier, you have no control over your body and just falls over your chair.

Wanda walks back in and sees you on the floor, she immediately goes to you and checks if you are ok.

Wanda: Hey. Wake up! Oh Shit.

She carries you to the lab and Bruce is shocked to see you fainted.

Bruce: I took her vitals, it's weak but she should be ok. I am giving her an IV drip so she should wake up in a few hours.

Wanda: Thanks Bruce.

Nat: I heard you were here. Ohh. What happened to her?

Wanda: I was just talking to her this morning and she looked tired so I went to get her a coffee. When I came back she was lying on the floor. I tried to wake her up but she was totally unconscious.

Nat: From my experience, I think it's because she is not eating.

Wanda: Why?

Nat: She's having a hard time transitioning. Suddenly having 2 jobs overnight, having us around. I bet she doesn't have much social life outside of work.

You: I'll have to say that your analysis is right...

They turn around to see you awake, sitting up.

Wanda: Bruce says you were not going to wake up for a few hours.

You: ...But not enough. There is a reason why I don't have a social life, and it's not because of work.

Before you can say finish your sentence, you fall back asleep.

Nat: Now that's a different side of her.

Wanda: I'm going to stay here. Do you have something for me just now?

Nat: I was going to say Fury is here to meet Y/N.

Wanda: I'll let you know when she wakes up.
