Chapter 3 (Trusting And Running)

I woke up to a white, bloodstained room with peices of body everywhere. What do these people do?!  A random thought appeared in my head. I felt the pain of the knife still in my shoulder. I looked to the right of me to see that there was no knife. Nothing but a small, painful scar. OKAY. this JUST got weirder. What are they going to do to me??! I think I should try to escape! What would my brother do?- "ach! Good morning, kind. I see zhat jou have noticed jour vound is gone." The German said. I knew he was German because at the pre-war training, we had to learn all the wolf languages and a few human speak as well. "hallo auch dir, herr" I spoke in his language. "Wow. I didn't know jou could speak in German!" He exclaimed. I looked around the room for any escape exits when he grabbed his clipboard. "I-I was taught a lot of l-languages sir." I said. "...do jou mind if I ask jou some questions bitte? Zhe others would too, if zhat alright with jou. "O-ok" i stammered. "Firstly, Vhat jour name?" He said. He waited for an answer. "....ShadeFire. And if you need to know this, I'm a female, aged 14 and I was raised in a place far away from here and was trained in the academy of the night territory for 6 months." I explained. "Mein gott. I didn't expect zhat." He said shocked. A small, white dove flew onto my shoulder and rubbed his neck under my chin. "ARCHIMEDES NO! SHE IS A GUEST NOT A SCRATHCHING POLE!" The German yelled at the bird. I smirked a giggle. "It's fine! What harm could a bird do to me?" I laughed. The German let out sigh and got back to his computer. This is my chance. But I have to act quickly. I thought. I placed the bird on top of the bed frame. I put my legs out of the bed. "Woah woah! Take it easy, kind. Jou don't what to get pins und needles!" He joked and warned. COME ON SHADEFIRE! NOW! My mind yelled. I made got up and walked behind the man. As I did so, I grabbed my black asassin knife and held the blade. (Yes i ment THE BLADE!!) and struck down on the back of his head. In a few seconds, he was knocked unconscious. I dashed for the window as I transformed into the beast. I then sprinted across the sand like a tornado. . I passed a few men on the way. Little did I know that I had forgotten to turn invisible. "Scout! Get her! She's doin' a jailbreak!" One of then yelled. The fast male sprinted after me. He had speed, but I had WINGS. I waited for a cliff to pass me. THERE'S A CLIFF! GO!  I sprinted towards the cliff. I had a plan. I would hoodwink them. "Hah! Got ya cornered! Where ya gonna go now?" He laughed. "Oh scout. You are REALLY low on the IQ scale." I teased. "Hey! At least I have good looks." "Says the idiot with a virgin life." I teased again. he let out an annoyed groan."By the way, you forgot something." "Uhhh...forgot what?" Before any of them knew it, my wings were already spread and I was free falling. I backflipped seconds before impact and glided only meters to the ground. I flew up and away. Little did I know, that sniper had a gun ready. I didn't know that there was a red dot pointed at my wing. 

BANG!

A gun was heared across the grounds as the net wrapped around me. I was in free fall once again. Moments before impact, I barrel rolled before and on impact so I wouldn't die. "Ahh....." I groaned. The men surrounded me as I ripped off the net. "Why did Leetle wolf try to escape?" The burly guy asked. "It's called I have a FAMILY to get back to and I hate it here! IT REMINDS ME HOW MY FAMILY AND I WERE CAPTURED BY THE-". Shadefire stopped herself from speaking any other information. "The what?" The helmet head asked. "Nunya business." I said with a threatening growl. "Watch Ye temper." The Scottish man said. "Watch yourself." I spoke aggressively. "Sigh. Shadefire was it? Listen kid, we are very stressed out right now and we've been having....talks. We're gonna call a girl named ms Pauling later." Engineer spoke. "Hmm....and how does this involve me?" I asked suspiciously. "Look, we'll talk 'bout it later ok? Let's just go inside." As he spoke, all of us went inside. I limped to the door of the base and walked through the concrete hallways. we reached the couch and everyone sat down. All but 1. Shadefire. She walked a different corner and was led outside. But, what she saw, was not the barren desert she lived in for 2 years, it was (URANUS!! Jk) like the old forest she used to run in before she was abducted. She couldn't hold back. She ran outside into the miniature forest. She felt something she hadn't felt in a long time. Freedom. She started jumping from tree to tree and jumped into the small river below. "Why is this here?! Ach! Never mind! Just enjoy it Shadefire!" She yelled to herself. She sworn she was there for five minutes but in reality, it was 2 hours.            "I see that you're enjoying yourself Shadefire."

Ms Pauling's POV

"I see that you're enjoying yourself Shadefire." I spoke as engineer walked in. "Huh? Who are you?" The teen asked me. "Oh! I'm sorry, I'm ms Pauling. I heard that the guys found you in the desert." She said. "And how in the storm's eye do you know my name?" She asked again as she jumped out of the water. To give her and answer, I threw her medic's file on her. Shadefire grabbed the file and read it. "...right."  "So, we want to talk to you about something, but first, follow us." I spoke. The teen followed me out of the prepared room into the living room where all of the men awaited us. "So everyone, as you all know Shadefire has been living with you for a couple days." The men nodded. "I was thinking to get her to know all of you, we could have a day for each of you to get to know her better." Shadefire looked at me like she wanted to scream out a lot of things but stayed silent. "Ok I guess." She spoke out. "First will be heavy, followed by pyro, demoman, scout, engineer, medic, sniper, medic then spy." The men agreed with one another as they heard it. Shadefire walked to the infirmary when Pauling stopped her. "You don't have to sleep in there again. Remember the room that I first saw you in? That's your temporary quarters." "Really? Ok then ms Pauling." She replied. She walked into the room and seconds later, she was gone.
