Louis POV

"What's taking her so long?" Maryn asked.

"I'm not sure, but they're probably just talking," I responded. "I'll go check on her though."

"Thanks, Lou. I'm exhausted," she said, yawning. She leaned her head on Harry's shoulder and shut her eyes.

I made my way out of the car and into Paige's apartment building to find my fiance and son. I tapped my foot as I impatiently waited for the elevator doors to pop open. I couldn't explain it, but ever since I stepped in the building I could tell that something was wrong.

The doors popped open on Paige's floor and I started down the hallway to her apartment. The door was wide open, something was definetly wrong. If we hadn't been in New York City, I probably wouldn't have thought much of it.

"El?" I called into the room. There was no response, so I stepped farther into the room. All around me, the only thing I could see was destruction. Panic was building up in the pit of my stomach. "El?" I called again.

Cautiously I made my way down the hallway, checking in every room I passed in search of any sign of a person. I poked my head into a bathroom and shivered. Behind me a draft was coming from another room.

I went into the room and saw that it was Grace's nursery. The window on the far wall was open, and both the crib and the Pak-In-Play were empty.

"No," I gasped. I ran over to the window, just in time to see a black van pull out of the alley below me.

I leaned up against the wall and slid down to the floor. My fiance and son were gone. What if I never saw them again? No, no. I wouldn't let that happen. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed 911.

"Hello, 911. What's your emergency?"

"My fiance, son and her friend and daughter have been kidnapped," I said, my voice surprisingly calm.

"Where are you, sir?"

I gave her the address of the place and hung up. She said that the police would be here in a few minutes and to stay where I was. I went out into the living room to call the boys.

"Come on, come on! Pick up!" I mentally urged Harry.

"Lou? What's taking so long?" he asked when he finally picked up.

"They're gone, Harry."

"What do you mean gone?"

"I mean, they're not here. And I saw a black van pull out of the alley."

"Holy shit," he swore under his breath.

"What's going on?" I heard Zayn ask from the background.

"Look, there's a helicopter landing on the roof!" Maryn said.

"Get out of here. It's bad enough that I'm here. We don't need the rest of you here once the paparazzi start showing up," I told Harry.

"No, we're already on our way up. We're not leaving you here by yourself," with that he hung up.

I sat down on the couch and tried to think. The only thing on my mind, however, was a question. Quite possibly the most painful question i've ever asked myself.

What if I never see them again?

My family was gone, and there was nothing I could do about it.

I looked up to the sound of footsteps and saw my band mates and Maryn walking into the room. Horror and shock was written all over their faces. Seeing their realization made me loose it. I broke down and started to cry. The reality of the situation was setting in.
