Chapter 8

Rosalie's POV

"So Louis, we haven't seen much of Eleanor and Nate these past few weeks. Trouble in paradise?"

I flinched as Louis struggled to find the proper way to answer the interviewers question. Loosing a friend was hard enough for me, this was his entire family. And the world couldn't know about it. The media would have a field day with the story, and that could put El and Nate in serious danger.

"Being away from home for so long is a lot for Nate. After all he's only about eighteen months. El brought him back to England to visit her parents."

I knew how much we all wished that was the case. I glanced up from the dishes I was washing and over my shoulder to the television where the boys were seated on a couch. Each had a fake smile plastered on, laughing at something the interviewer had said.

"As a talk show host I'm contractually obligated to ask this question," the interviewer smirked. I groaned to myself. All of the fans already knew that Louis was engaged, Harry, Niall, and Zayn had girlfriends and Liam was single. Without waiting for the boys to finish rattling off their various relationship statuses I shut off the television.

I hadn't seen Niall in weeks, and while we skyped once a week and talked every day I was really missing him. We had been together for nearly two years. Our anniversary was coming up in a few weeks, but we had decided not to celebrate until Eleanor and Nate were home safely.

When the boys had old me about Nate and Eleanor's kidnapping I thought that there was something they weren't telling me. Louis had been there, but Liam had only made an appearance at the beginning of the call and left looking tense and confused about ten minutes in saying he was "going for a run".

I sat in the kitchen of mine and Niall's flat wondering why Liam was taking the disappearance of Louis's family so hard when my laptop dinged. I hit the space key to wake it up and saw that I had an incoming call from Niall. We had just skyped the day before so I was surprised to be hearing from him gain. With his busy tour schedule we were lucky to be able to talk face to face once a week.

"Hey," I said, smiling at him. Liam was sitting on the bed next to him looking at his phone. "What's up?"

 "No much, how's your day going?"

"I've just been sitting here watching TV. There's not much to do here. Have you heard anything?"

"Not yet. They've promised to call us as soon as they know anything." He paused and looked over at Liam who nodded. Liam sat up more and looked at me.

"What?" I asked warily.

"Umm, well," Liam stammered. "Briar is, Briar's alive."

I stared at the two of them in disbelief. "You're kidding right?" They shook their heads. "Well that's great then!" They shook their heads again. "What?"

"They're with Eleanor."

"They?"

"Yeah, I'm a dad," Liam said humorlessly. "Surprise."

Just then Louis came running onto the screen. "They have a lead," he said. "Hi Rose," he said glancing at me.

"Where do they think they are?" Liam asked him, standing up. Niall and I watched the two boys in silence, waiting for Louis answer.

"Well you know that they had an idea of where they might be taking them, so that's where they started and they just found a facility. It's going to take them a few days to safely gain access to the building, but they're pretty sure that that's where the girls and the kids are."

"We have to go," Liam said. 

"We can't. We have shows, we can't just put the tour on hold. Marie told me not to get my hopes up, they could be completely wrong. She said that I would be the first person that she called when she know what was happening."

"I'll talk to you later," I said, feeling like I was intruding. "Love you Niall."

"Bye Ro," Niall said, kissing his hand and pressing it to his camera. I mirrored and heard the other boys saying "Bye Rose," before I hung up.

There! It's short, but after over a month I'm ending it early so taht it's up sooner. I'm going to spend all day writing the next chapter. I promise it'll be up before I go to bed.
