"Ate!"I smiled as I heard that voice and saw my now grown sister running towards me.
"Cely!!" I gave her my biggest hug.
"How are you?" I asked. She was wearing a pastel colored dress paired with some heels and her shades.
She helped me bring my luggages as she pulled the other cart.
"Ok. I may have to rest for a bit. Haba ng flight," sabi ko. It was a 17 hour or so flight to get back here so I was so tired and groggy when the plane finally landed.
"I'm sure, ate. Obvious yung eyebags mo," comment niya. I sighed.
We got out of the airport and into the parking lot.
"You went here alone?"
"Lumien!" Nilingon ko ito. I heard my sister clear her throat.
"Gideon," I stated.
"The one and only," he said with arms open.
She shrugged.
"Gusto niya sumama, ate."
I sighed and chuckled.
He laughed. "Grabe. Hindi mo ba ako namiss?" I rolled my eyes.
"Ewan ko sa'yo. Kakakita lang natin last week."
He travels a lot too. We saw each other last week on fashion week because he was invited to go.
We let go and he then stood beside Cely.
I crossed my arms and jokingly turned serious.
"May lakad ba kayo ngayon?"
"Meron sa—"
"Wala, ate," Cely cut him off and glared at him.
"Oh siya. Let's go.
I'm so tired that I didn't even bother to tease those two. They helped me with my things which I am grateful for.
I then went straight to my bed and took a well-deserved nap because my eyes are about to fall off if I don't.
Though it seemed as if I slept for a few days, I groggily sat up as I woke. I rubbed my eyes and stretched.
After for a few minutes, I got up, washed my face and changed my clothes.
I got out of my room and there in the kitchen I saw my mom putting food on a bowl. She smiled as she saw me.
"Hi, anak." I went to her.
"Ma," I hugged her tightly.
"Kumusta flight?"
"It was fine. I'm sorry napatagal idlip ko."
"It's ok. I know you're pretty jetlagged. Here I've prepared our dinner," she stated. I saw my favorite homemade meals from her on the table. Man, I've missed her meals. You can't get them anywhere else. But, nothing beats my mom's cooking.
