"I would only ask you to keep your eyes open, nothing more. Monsters have been venturing further and further into the city since then, we think it's related," she took a short breath and now looked at me urgently. "So please just keep your eyes and ears open a little more than usual, would that be in your possible?"

I saw no reason to turn the young lady down. She was passionate and concerned about the well being for the city, why would I not accept such a small request?

"Understood, I will get back to you if I can find out anything,"

Nervously I stood behind the counter at Angel's Share with my eyes fixed on the door. Soon it would open and the first customers would enter the tavern. It had been a good hour since my meeting with the mysterious woman.

In the past time I had unobtrusively studied the menu list and tried to memorize as much as I could. I had also had a lot of time to think about everything that had happened and had come to a decision.

All the things of this world made no sense to me, I couldn't keep up and couldn't make sense of many concepts, so I decided to go to the library. During my little walk through the city, I had overheard that there was indeed one and that it was open to everyone. It was supposed to be in the main building of the Knights of Favonius, so it wouldn't be that hard to find.

'After my work here is done, I'll have a look around there,' I thought to myself as I strode through the tavern and took a closer look at everything.

Angel's Share was nothing extraordinary as I would have imagined a tavern to be in the past. But still, there was something about it. The atmosphere was so lively and calming and that despite the fact that no customers had even arrived yet.

The sun was shining through the windows, sinking lower and lower, the stairs to the second floor creaked softly on some stairs and behind the bar there was the smell of all kinds of drinks.

The mood somehow gave me some confidence for my upcoming work. Somehow I would swing the whole thing, just don't lose heart, that's it!

If I had ever thought anything mean about the actual owner of this body today, I take it back immediately now! I wouldn't last that kind of life. Even though I was only supposed to be working at the counter, I was pacing by now the tavern with loaded tablets to take the drinks to their respective owners.

The sudden change of scene could perhaps, but only perhaps, have been caused by the fact that I had displeased three customers in a row with the wrong drink. So, in a nice but authoritative tone, Charles had ordered me to serve.

Wasn't I actually the owner of this tavern...?

In any case, I really had more than just great respect for Diluc. He was the owner of a manor and a tavern, was responsible for most of the beverage business in whole Mondstadt as far as I knew, had no one to share the work with apart from his servants, and was only in his early 20s!

I just put the tray with empty glasses on the bar and dropped onto one of the bar stools. What happened to 'Mondays are never busy'?

"Sir, maybe you should call it a night, Charles and I will work it out somehow," Patton's voice came from somewhere above me.

I jolted up. Without realizing it my head had sunk onto the counter.

Patton was also an Angel's Share employee, looking one-to-one like Charles but with the complete opposite character; shy and cautious.
