First day of school | Chapter 1

- Narrators POV -

"Goob, are you ready yet?" Scraps asked as she looked into Goob's room. He was making sure he had everything in his bag."Yea, im ready!" Goob answered as he put on a happy smile. "Someone's excited for today huh?" "Yea, I'm planning to make some friends today!" "That's good for you, now come on let's get going!" The two craft siblings rushed out their front door and walked to the bus stop, chatting along the way.

When Goob and Scraps arrived at the bus stop, they saw a grumpy looking shrimp sitting on a bench. Scraps thought he was rude, but Goob on the other hand saw this as an opportunity to make a new friend.

- Goob's POV -

My sister seems to judge this shrimp guy, but I think I can still be friends with him! I walk over to him as I look down at him. "Hi there, my name is Goob! What's your name?" I introduced myself with a smile. He looked up at me with a furious face. Did I say something wrong?

- Narrators POV -

The shrimp looked back at Goob with an irritated and angry expression. "GET AWAY FROM ME!" He yelled with a huge frown. Goob had a perplexed expression on his face and walked back to his sister. "Bro what were you thinking..??" Scraps asked. "I thought he would be nicer than that..." Goob said followed by a small laugh. A lamp walked up from behind them and started to talk. "Hi, my name is Brightney!" "Hello Brightney! I'm Goob and this is my sister Scraps!" Goob introduced, excited that he might make a friend. "I overheard you talking to that Shrimpo... he's not a very bright guy." Brightney murmured. "Yeah, I can tell." Scraps agreed. "Well I want to become friends with him! Or like, try to." Goob admitted.

Brightney and Scraps eyed Goob. "Well good luck with that.. it's not gonna be easy." Brightney said. "But maybe we can make some ideas, I guess?" Scraps considered as Brightney hesitantly nodded. Goob's eyes lit up. "You guys will help me!!? Thank you!" He pulled Brightney and Scraps into a hug as they all laughed. The three of them stood next to the bench as more toons came to the bus stop. Goob watched as a fish bowl tried to say a pun to Shrimpo and he shooed him away like he did to him. Goob was deep in thought about ways to become Shrimpo's friend until the bus arrived.

At the school, the three of them sat down at a table. "So, have any ideas yet?" Brightney questioned. "I have some!" Goob exclaimed. He started to ramble on about what seemed like 100 ideas to become his friend. By the time he was done the bell rung. "Let's go to our first class together Goob!" Scraps said as Goob followed. "Class, today we have 2 new students in our class." The teacher announced. The two craft siblings walk in, looking at who's here. Goob notices that Shrimpo's in here, who's currently glaring at him. "You two can sit together in those two seats over there." The teacher said. Goob and Scraps smiled at each other as they sat down.

What Goob didn't notice though was that Shrimpo was beside him. Goob thought this was a perfect time to try to talk to him! "Hi Shrimpo!" Goob greeted with a smile. Shrimpo angrily looked at him. He didn't even want to talk to him, and now it's even worse that he's sitting next to him. "I HATE YOU!" Shrimpo shouted as he clenched his fists. Scraps gave him a mad look. "Don't talk to my brother like that." Shrimpo rolled his eyes as the teacher started the lesson.

- Time skip to the end of the day -

At the end of school, Brightney and Scraps were waiting for Goob to finish packing up. He eventually gets done with their help and they walk out of the classroom door. Suddenly, Goob got an idea. "Guys, you can go ahead first, I'm gonna start idea one of my plan!" Goob says determinedly. "Oh ok, good luck bro!" Scraps says with a thumbs up as the two of them walk off to go rest somewhere. Goob waits for Shrimpo to walk out of the classroom, noticing the teacher's already out. He assumed that Shrimpo was the last one in here. Goob peeks in the classroom and sees him getting up from his seat. Before he could walk out, Goob quickly stepped in and closed the classroom door behind him.

- Shrimpo's POV -

I was trying to walk out of the door, and this IDIOT blocked me off. I angrily glared at him as he did that stupid smile once again. "So Shrimpo, I've noticed that you've been very.. tense today! So I thought I might give you something that will calm you down! A big warm hug!" That stupid craft said as he hugged me. "GET OFF ME!" I screamed as I tried my hardest to break free, but he was too strong. I eventually accepted my fate since I couldn't even budge him. Suddenly, a little voice in my head thought.. 'When was the last time I got hugged?' I froze and thought about that for a moment. 'I guess it's ok to be quiet, he's the only one here anyways.' I thought to myself as I loosened my body and let him hug me. This is the first time i've been hugged in a while.

- Goob's POV -

I look down at him surprised at his sudden change in mood. Not yelling or screaming mean things anymore, just being quiet and letting me hug him. I slowly started to grow a huge smile on my face. I held him tighter as I gently swayed him side to side. "Hehe, this is the first time you didn't yell at me!" I say happily. We both stood there for a good 5 minutes, Shrimpo being silent the entire time. When I let go, he looked up at me in the nicest way he's ever had. "Are we friends now?" I say hopefully. "... sure, I guess." Shrimpo mumbled as he looked away. I ecstatically squealed as I hugged him tight and jumped up and down. "Yay!!" All of a sudden I remembered that I should probably give him something. "Oh hold on I'm gonna give you something." I say as I start looking through my bag.

- Shrimpo's POV -

I stare as he looks in his backpack. Looks like he's having a hard time because of his arms. "Here Shrimpo! Make sure to add me when you can!" Goob holds out a folded paper to me. Add him..?! I take it from him and opened it up... to see his number inside. I felt my face warm up, I don't know why. I don't even like this idiot anyways. I think.

- Goob's POV -

I watch Shrimpo's cheeks blush a pink color. Wait— he's blushing?! This is like a whole new side of Shrimpo! It's kind of cute to be honest! I suddenly remembered that Brightney and Scraps were waiting for me. "Oh shoot! Uh— I'll catch you later Shrimpo! Bye!" I wave bye to Shrimpo as he waves back. "Brother what took you so long?" Scraps asked tiredly. I giggle as I put on a big smile. "Hehe, I think I just made a new friend!"
