the listening trees whispered to each other
while staring at me unperturbed
as my voice rang in the forest
calling out to someone, anyone undeterred.
Raw desperation clinging to my throat,
but the forest didn't want to listen,
My mouth kept moving
until my tears started escaping,
but still, none wanted to give me the antidote
One by one they fell,
unto the barren soil,
the dry leaves shied away from it,
inside the ground curled
The steel rocks of the earth felt the pain,
it impacted their hearts,
but they still regarded it as a stain.
Unflinching unmoving nature,
which I revered, turned its back on me
when trouble was near.
The listening trees whispered to each other,
while staring at me unconcerned
They didn't want to listen to what was there,
They didn't want to even act as they care
All alone in this world,
carrying its burdens,
Suddenly I felt a creature with wings cajoling me into its beak,
My heart was beating in trepidation
as it carried me not to swallow me whole,
but to put my gilled body back into the water,
back to liberation.
