MY HEART BEATS
As my mouth opens,
MY HEART BEATS
As not a word comes out
I stare into open space,
With all those eyes boring into me
Wondering what the hell is wrong with my personality.
My mind starts packing its bags,
While my impulsive lips shut down.
I take a deep breath and let it all out,
Letters, suddenly full-formed sentences start pouring and pouring
Until the jug is overflowing
My cheeks flush with pride,
That I have at last turned over the tide,
When the applause in my ears dies down,
I look around my empty room,
My heart beats,
as I smile at myself for one step forward,
Because that's enough for now
