The View from Outside The Window

It's too easy to curl up your emotions,

to sneak away from reality

to treat your imagination as comfortable cushions

The world outside bangs on your windows

Calling your name again and again,

but you just sit there with your headphones on,

putting all your hard work all in vain.

My eyes fill up with numb tears,

trying to pull you away from yourself,

to make you feel something again.

Your mind is in a disarray and I can see it clearly,

but I can't do anything,

It's frustrating and I'm helpless,

my feelings are a mess

I can't help you

However much I care for you dearly.

The ice is creeping into your heart,

stop it, stop it please,

before you shut down,

before it's so late,

that you're left regretting all your life in such a horrible state.

Let me in,

Let me heal your broken fragments,

For I want to hear you speak once more,

filled with love and laughter to the core

If you can hear me,

tell me now,

for you are me and I, you,

and whatever I say it's the truth.
