The circle

I am safe if I stay inside

nothing will harm me if I just stay inside

All I have are the rules to abide

Nothing else, nothing more just standing there

breathing the stale air,

in the circle.

They told me it's safe, they sounded sure

With their voices bold and stand determined,

they drew the circle and told me not to go beyond

There's nothing else, no one else who will accept you and

My voice for their love I pawned.

It must be safe right? I mean they said so

the world is filled with monsters and I naive little thing

knowing nothing about anything since my step contained a spring

Should I really stay in the circle? They've gone away,

Perhaps I should go find them or just run away.

Aren't my steps mine? Isn't my voice mine? The circle is merely drawn, I'll see the monsters myself,

They are right and they are wrong.

I know nothing about myself,

I know nothing about the world,

but I stepped out of the circle and

all around me is Beauty.
