"Mama!" Daphne called to you from her place in the living room watching the Mickey mouse clubhouse on tv. You left your spot in the kitchen to go see what your baby needed.
"What's up love bug?" you questioned walking over to where she sat on the couch eating her apples with peanut butter. "More peas." She lifted the bowl towards you there only being a little bit of leftover peanut butter.
You took it from her with a shake of your head before going to the kitchen to cut up a few more apples for your munchkin. "You want orange pineapple or fruit punch babe?"
"Foot punch!" She replied excitedly, still watching the tv. You grabbed a small fruit punch from the fridge before placing a single cube of ice in her sippy cup and then pouring the rest.
As you cut up some more apple slices you heard the front door open and in walked your loving fiancé. He'd been out with some friends for a little while not wanting to be gone from the two of you for too long.
"Daddy!" Daphne yelled after the door had closed and you were sure she had thrown herself onto Will. "Hi peanut." Wilbur greeted. You were always secretly just a bit jealous of how much more Daphy preferred your fiancé over you.
But you tried to not let it get to you since she was only three and couldn't really choose favorites since she didn't really even know what choosing favorites was.
"And there's little miss mama bear." Wilbur laughed, making his way over to you, his hands wrapping around your waist, his head leaning down to press kisses on the side of your head.
"missed you." you smiled biting your lip softly as you placed the four bit larger apple slices back in the bowl your daughter handed you. "did you have fun?" you asked him.
Reaching for the peanut butter with the spoon still in it from earlier.
"s'was cool i guess just wanted to come home soon as possible." he sighed rocking the two of you back and forth slowly. "don't know why you didn't just tell 'em no." you mumbled, taking a few dollops of peanut butter and putting it in the bowl.
"I would have but then it would've been some shit about this and that so." His head rested atop of yours closing his eyes for a moment.
"We still have a daughter you know." You whispered after a few beats of silence Mickey being heard in the background Daphne getting a bit restless on the couch.
"she'll be fin-."
As if on cue the three year old made her presence known wondering what was taking so long. "Mama? Foot punch, peabutter?" She tugged on your pant leg looking between the two of you.
"Here ya go bug." You closed the sippy cup lid tightly before handing both the cup and plastic bowl to her. "Tank you mama!" And with that she was off going back to her show.
"I miss when it was just us." Will joked moving his head to your shoulder faking a cry. "You were complaining about it being too quiet when it was just us now you wish it was back to the way it was?"
A laugh left your lips as your fiancé began to shake his head.
