—————
It wasn't your intention to come out during a Jackbox game, but when you're about to lose for the third time in a row, what else is there to do?
It was an off stream game you'd been invited to by Quackity. There wasn't any particular reason for not streaming — you figure the others just want to have some off camera fun, indicative by the sheer vulgarity of the jokes.
You've quite frankly never heard this many sex jokes in under an hour.
You're on the last round of quiplash. You get quieter and quieter as everybody else gets louder and louder. You can't focus on what's going on, waiting for your prompt to show up on screen.
The current one on screen reads 'how do you convince your date to pay for your meal?'
The answers are 'give that gluck gluck 9000' and 'sloppy toppy lol' respectively.
"Tubbo," Quackity is screeching, "what the fuck?!"
"This game is so scuffed," Sapnap groans, unhappy with losing to a child.
"Chadnap, chadnap!" Karl cheers.
"What's glug glug 9000?" Tommy asks, causing even more yelling in the call, Dream's wheeze louder than everybody else's.
You remain silent through it, fiddling with your fingers and chewing on your lip. Your hands are cold, shaking just a little, as you doubt your decision.
Everybody is high energy, having fun. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. Maybe you should back out, leave the game before your answer is revealed—
"Last prompt, last prompt!" Quackity cheers, and begins to read it out. "The title of my autobiography is..."
Everybody is giddy, and you freeze, jaw clenched, as you watch the screen with rapt attention.
The first answer reads 'the life of a dnf shipper'.
George let's out a yell, "Why are you pandering we're not even live?!"
And then yours pops up, seconds later due to lag — or maybe it's just the universe punishing you for being so bold.
'I'm pansexual and if you don't give me votes you're homophobic /lh'
Laughs ring around the call, but they all sound a little shocked, nobody really sure how to react.
"Well I'm not homophobic," Karl says after a second, a giggle in his voice as he votes.
"What's pansexual mean?" Tubbo asks curiously.
"It's one thing to be a dreamnotfound shipper, but a homophobe too?" Tommy shouts over whoever had tried to answer, playfully outraged, "count me out!"
And then the votes start rolling in.
Everybody is talking, still energetic and excited, but there's an underlying tension as everybody waits to see who inputed the answer.
Your name is revealed as you get quiplashed, and you force out a shaky laugh, clearly nervous.
"Yes, give me your fucking votes!" You cheer, a little quieter than usual.
"That's not fair!" George yelps, laughing.
"You came out so you wouldn't lose a game of Jackbox?!" Dream yells, wheezing.
You laugh with him, voice still trembling with anxiety, though your hands are beginning to still. They seem to be taking it well.
"You're just pissed yours didn't win!" Sapnap yells back at Dream.
"Yeah, Gogy, come get your boyfriend," Tubbo chimes, voice innocent. This causes more screaming in the call.
"Y/n winner era?" Quackity cackles over them all.
"Y/n cheater era?" George argues, still giggling.
"Y/n actually being good at Jackbox for once arc?" Karl adds on.
You grin, listening to them be loud and stupid. You know this is them being supportive in a way that doesn't force you to talk about anything you don't want to, and you appreciate it so much.
You glance at your phone as it lights up with a text message.
Toob: Just googled what it means, very cool boss manToob: Also nice win LOLY/n: thanks Tubbo (:
You look back to your screen, watching Quackity move to mad verse city.
You sort of knew, really, that they wouldn't treat you any differently, but actually listening to them continue to hype up your win (and really, this is them congratulating you on coming out, you can't mistake it for anything else) makes your heart feel warm in the most pleasant way.
Plus, you finally won a game of Jackbox.
