We took the shortest way to the village, but we weren't ready to hear the news: the third hokage has passed away. All of us were frozen on the spot, as if we had suddenly lost our chakra.
I couldn't move any of my muscles, not even the facial ones, so I can't really tell what expression I had on my face. Nevertheless, among us the most heartbroken was Naruto.
Lord third and him had a kind of father-son relationship, so I can understand how he feels. There was nothing I could do for him, but to comfort him with a simple hug. It sure wasn't enough to make him recover from the misfortune, but I wanted to remind him he's not alone.
Of course, the hokage's death will have a powerful impact on everyone in the village, which means that for several days Konoha will be all black. The hokage was our light, he conducted us to the right path, to escape from the darkness, until the very end.

«The sky is crying too.»
As soon as the funeral started, it began to rain. I've always loved rainy weather, especially because of the petrichor, the warm and pleasant scent in the air that rain leaves every time. However, today it's not the same.
It wasn't the usual comforting rain, it was sad this time. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a tap on my shoulder. It was Kakashi-sensei. «It's your turn now.» He was talking about the flowers we had to put on the grave to express our gratitude and respect to the hokage.
I held mine: it was a white lilie, a symbol of peace. I carefully placed it and offered my prayers to not only the hokage, but also to everyone else who had died during the attack, in order to protect all of us.
I was glad that there were people like them, who put the villagers' life before their own. But I couldn't understand why people had to fight with each other.
"There will never be peace"

«Then, see you next time.» the funeral had just finished and we were leaving with Kakashi-sensei. «Tell me, sensei... why do we fight against each other?».
By the reaction he gave me, I assume he was caught off guard. Shock crossed his face, his eyebrows rose in surprise. Still, he tried to act cool and asked, «Why are you asking this out of the blue?»
«I was curious.» I replied straightforwardly to end the discussion, even though I wanted to ask him more. "It's pointless, isn't it?" "Can't we just live without feeling hate for each other?"
«The way you think reminds me of a great friend of mine, Y/n.» «Is it bad?», he giggled before responding. «No, not at all. You and my friend have a very interesting mind.»
«Sensei, I also have a question!» «Go ahead, Sakura.» «Do you have any idea on who will be the fifth hokage, since now the village is uncovered?», «Actually, the leadership still has to decide, so for now there won't be a hokage and I think Jiraya will be the one taking care of it.»
«Pervy-sage? Why him?» Naruto asked, confused. «Why not?» Kakashi-sensei answered back. «I'm sure he will find the right person for Konoha.»

The sun was disappearing in the midst of rosy clouds, leaving to our eyes the opportunity to see one of nature's most beautiful paintings: the sunset.
«I'll get going.» Gradually, they all left following Sakura. But not me, I told them I wanted to stay a little longer, at least until the sun was completely below the horizon.
Thinking I was finally alone, I laid down on the grass and saw someone standing right behind me. «H-hey! You scared me!» I backed up and fell on my butt. I sat down and cleared my throat, «What are you doing here, Gaara?»
«Why do you like sunsets? This phenomenon happens every day.», he avoided me and looked forward. «You didn't answer me.» «Neither you did.» «Because I asked you first!» «Does it matter in which order questions were asked?»
The way he was acting was pretty annoying, so I had no option but to reply first. «Yes, sunsets are not rare but- um... I don't know, I just like them.» «You must have a reason, if you like something or someone.»
"Geez, why is he suddenly interested in me?"
I actually had nothing more to say, but I wanted to continue to chat with him. «You haven't answered me yet.», he finally moved his gaze on me. «I also don't know.»
Then, he turned away to admire the last minutes of the sunset, while I had my eyes glued on him, admiring him.
«You're really different from the others, but in a good way.» I said to break the silence. «No, you're wrong. I've found someone like me.»
«A friend of yours?» I asked, «I don't have friends.», I didn't expect him to give this answer, so my mouth opened slightly in shock. Now things became awkward, because of my stupid question.
«Uh, um... But we're friends, right?», he didn't say a word, as if he wanted me to continue. «We've been talking with each other a few times now, do you still not consider me as a friend? If not, then let me be your friend.»
I tried to be as sincere as possible, explaining everything to him in a clear and simple speech. Honestly, I feel a little embarrassed by the way I've expressed myself. Maybe I should have waited to be closer to him before saying this, and maybe I shouldn't even have brought this topic.
«It's getting darker, go home now.» was his reply. «What-?» and in the blink of an eye, his body turned into pure sand, which fell to the ground and formed the word "thanks".

Once again it was night. The streets of Konoha were still full of people, hanging out with their friends or family. It amazed me how they still could find happiness after the incident. It's better to be happy rather than being sad, anyway.
«Y/n...», someone was calling me, but I couldn't figure out who. I started walking faster and faster, but the voice kept repeating my name over and over, until I reached home.
«Sasuke!» «What the hell do you want?» he replied in his usual arrogant tone. «Many things have happened today, but the strangest thing was that someone kept calling me on my way home.»
«You should've answered, hmph.» «How was I supposed to do that if I was alone all the time?», he sighed and told me to just go to sleep, because 'iT's onLy imAgiNaTioN'. «Thanks for being so helpful, Sasuke.»
I went to my bedroom, but before I could fully close the door I saw two figures, one by the window and the other one leaning on the wall, «Long time no see, Y/n.»
