Only two weeks. Fourteen days. Three hundred thirty-six hours.
«Hey, Y/n!» I turned around to see who was calling me. «Oh, hi Lee.» «What are you up to?» «Nothing much, I was just having a walk.» I said, looking away as if I was telling the truth.
«Uhmm, something seems off though…» «Stop talking nonsense, Lee! C'mon, let's go Y/n.» Tenten defended me and took me away from Lee and Neji.
«Where are we going?» «To search for Hinata, Ino and Sakura. Today is girls' day! Lee is right, there's something wrong. You don't need to tell me if you don't want to. Let's just free our minds and have fun together.»

«You haven't had lunch yet? If not, what about eating at Ichiraku's?» Hinata proposed. «Dang, Naruto influenced you a lot.» We all laughed at Ino's joke and headed there, while Hinata was dying of embarrassment.
«By the way, what's that paper you've been holding tight since we met, Y/n?» Because of how many thoughts I had in my head, I didn't even notice it. «That's nothing important.»
Ino and Sakura looked at each other with a malevolent smile. «Did a boy give it to you?» «Yeah, like a love letter! He confessed‽»
«Love letter-?»
«C'mon, let us see!» They went to both my sides and started to try to take it. «We won't tell anyone, promise!» «Yeah, Ino's right. We're just so curious that you succeeded in love!»
“Succeeded, my foot. I'm thirteen...”
«Stop! You're gonna rip it!» I shouted to make them stop, but they continued. «She said to stop, are you deaf?» a deep voice intervened.
To my surprise, it was Gaara. Again. As Ino and Sakura finally let it go, I quickly put it in my pocket to prevent this from happening another time.
«Thank you.», without even saying another word, he left along with Kankurō and went inside the ramen shop. «Always so rude.» I rolled my eyes to him.
«We can't help it… by the way did Sasuke come too?» «Hn, you're obsessed with my brother, blondie.» «Same goes to you, Uchiha girl.» «Because we talked a few times? And my name is Y/n, thanks.»
Tenten tried to calm me down, while Ino and Sakura continued bickering with her about Sasuke. «Sasuke-kun doesn't have interest in girls from the Sand village!»
«I doubt he is into you too, anyway.» blondie replied. «Girls, let's just go. I don't want our day to be ruined.»
“I can't believe I'll have to eat lunch with the sand siblings. So awkward.”
We took our orders and waited. I was about to sit down, so was Temari. «What? I'm here to eat.» I said and moved her hand away. «I got here first.» «Well, technically no. My sharingan doesn't lie, you know.»
There were only five seats, but only three of them were available since there were also Gaara and Kankurō. «You are both so childish. Here, sit down. I'll eat outside with Ino and Sakura.» Tenten really had enough of us.
I sat down: at my right there was Hinata and at my left Kankurō. Meanwhile, our orders arrived and the place became so silent. We were too busy eating.
This didn't last long as Hinata suddenly lost consciousness and fainted in my arms. «N-naruto-kun!» I checked outside and apparently he was here.
I rested her face on the table and fixed my clothes. I asked for a glass of water for her to drink when she wakes up. I continued eating, until «Sasuke-kun!»
I choked on my ramen as I didn't expect him to be with Naruto. I patted multiple times on my chest, trying to get the food out of my throat but it didn't work.
I began searching for something to drink, however there was only the glass of water that was meant for Hinata. I immediately grabbed it and drank it. I felt so much better.
«Y/n-chan, you're here too? That's awesome, dattebayo!» «Oh, yeah! I was leaving anyway…» I paid for my meal and left the restaurant, even though I still had to eat the nori seaweed and some noodles.
«Wait, you didn't finish your-» «I'm full. Gotta go now, see ya.» I cut him off. I double checked if someone was following me, but no one did. That was what I thought.
Sand appeared in front of me and slowly took the form of Gaara. «What the hell! Why'd you follow me? Are you a pervert‽» «I'm not. Why did you run away?» «Is none of your business.»
«Because you saw your brother? Are you scared of him?» His question was so confusing, that my brain stopped working for a second. «Why would I? Why do you even care?»
«Naruto told me-» «Oh, really? Thank him for me. Okay, now bye.» I tried to escape. «-to care about friends.» he continued. I was speechless, I didn't know he actually considered my words seriously.
«Let me be your friend.»
Now I felt like I had to open up to him and tell him the reason. «I'm just not ready to face Sasuke, right now.» «Don't you guys see each other every day at home?» «Well, yes but today is different.»
As expected he didn't understand what I meant. I thought of just telling him to leave me alone, but then I remembered his words:«I don't have friends.»
It was all new for him. I guess he has never tried to comfort someone before. «Nevermind. Let's stop talking about that, how about going up to the Hokage Rock?» I suggested.
«To do what?» «To admire the sunset. It's better to admire it with someone than being alone.» «Does it really make a difference?» «Yes, it does. Let's go!»

We talked a lot during the way, I explained to him the story of Konoha and he told me many things about the Suna. «Here we are, perfect timing! The sun is about to go under the horizon.»
We sat down next to each other. «Hey, Gaara, I would like to have your opinion about a story.» He looked at me, ready to listen.
«There are ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’; ‘B’ visits ‘A’ and tells ‘A’ to meet and talk. ‘C’ doesn't know anything about it. ‘A’ and ‘B’ the next day meet: ‘B’ makes ‘A’ decide between leaving with ‘B’ or resting at home with ‘C’. If ‘A’ agrees, its decision will somehow keep ‘C’ safe, but if ‘A’ refuses, ‘B’ will erase A's memory and B's plan will fail. What should ‘A’ do?»
He thought for a while about a solution to help ‘A’. «‘A’ should go with ‘B’ if it really cares about ‘C’» «But don't you think that maybe ‘B’ is an evil person? How could ‘A’ fully trust ‘B’?»
«I'd rather take the risk than seeing someone I care about suffer in front of my eyes.»
I giggled at how determined he was while saying so, «Did Naruto also tell you this?»
