EREN'S POV

both me and mikasa started walking towards a specific room in her house. we arrived in front of the room's dark wooden door and mikasa pushed it open, revealing a big piano. we both sat on the chair and i started pressing it's keys one by one. mikasa started doing the same and in a few seconds both our hands were prancing on the piano's keys, playing the same melody i've heard again and again through the years and yet never seem to get tired of it.

as we finished, i can sense mikasa's eyes on me. i turn to her, facing a now happily smiling mikasa. she gently took one of the flowers from the vase which has been sitting on top of the piano. i realized what she's doing and quickly grab one aswell. we both stretched our hands out, having one stem of baby's breath flower on each of our palms. i took the one from mikasa and she took the one from me.

if you're confused with what we're doing, this is some kind of... tradition..? that mikasa and i do whenever i came over to her house and played the piano with her. and no, this is not a symbol for romance or something like that, don't worry. i guess its how we show our sibling-like love for each other. after a moment of calming silence, we can hear our parents searching for us. so we exited the room, only to be told that the uhm 'wedding' is just in a few days. 3 days to be specific.

oh well... everything's settled then.

✧ STILL EREN'S POV ✧

pacing back and forth around my room didn't help my bitchy anxiety to go away. i grabbed my hair and started pulling on it out of frustration. guess there's no other way, back to the forest i go.

i stopped my tracks right before i was about to enter the place where the amount of trees makes it seem like a maze, the place where if only the setting was a bit brighter it would look like it was pulled out of a fairy tale book, the place where i have spent about 90% of my time in. i think this is like, what? my 5th time returning to this nature heaven today, and its only 12 in the freaking afternoon. i mean if you consider the previous day, today wouldn't sound so bad, since yesterday i went here about 15 times throughout the whole day. so imagine how many times i went here just till 12 in the afternoon yesterday.

ah sorry for the confusing math...

wait what did i just say? was i talking to someone? damn do i worry about the stupid wedding that much to the point i start talking to myself? i guess yeah huh. i mean come to think of it, i have been talking to god knows what or who lately, don't know why though. [eren not realizing he broke the fourth wall more than once oop-]

i shook my head and went straight into the forest, letting the faint noises of critters take over. just like every other one of my visits, i sat on this big log, resting my hands on my lap and intertwined my fingers together. i took a deep breath and sighed, looking down at the ground i started to chant 'its going to be fine, everything's a-okay' over and over again. after about 5-10 minutes of me doing this, i pulled the ring out of my pocket. then i just... stared at it. while staring, of course all my doubts and fears suddenly washed over me like a huge wave, crashing onto my blank mind.

as the thoughts became more extreme i placed the ring next to me, then let out a groan while covering my face with my hands. i snuck a peek back at the ring and noticed bird claws near it. i shot my head up to see the owner of those claws. next to me was a raven, it was looking at the ring, tilting it's head right and left. trying to ignore the feathered creature, i carefully moved one of my hands so i can get the ring back. just when my index finger and thumb were literally a few millimeters away from snatching the ring, the raven attacked not just my two fingers, but my whole hand. i winced in pain, pulling back and rubbing my now hurt hand with my other. the raven wasted no time and quickly flew away... with the ring oh my god wait- i jumped on my feet immediately and started chasing after it.

after a few minutes of me trying to not loose the flying omnivore, it went behind some bushes and vines. i didn't think twice and just shoved the plants out of my way. lets just say i was a bit stunned by the place. there was a big tree in the middle, with no leaves. surrounding it was multiple roots? branches? whatever it is, its definitely wood, and all of them bend and twisted in many ways. some of them even had thorns. it gives off creepy energy, but its really beautiful.

after i was done being amazed, i scanned the place for the raven. its gone... i panicked. but before i could start having a mental breakdown, in the corner of my eye i saw something shiny. i walked towards it and thank the heavens it was the ring. it was placed on one of those odd... wood? geez i don't know what to call it.

my mind started debating on what to do for some reason. one part was saying 'get the ring and go home' while the other was saying 'while you're here why not try to practice your vows? it'll be better without having mom or dad listening to you while you practice'

i shrugged and went with the second idea.

"I'd choose you
In a hundred lifetimes
I'd find you
In a hundred worlds
In any version of reality
Until the end of time
Through every possibility
I ask you to be mine"

[i swear to ymir that vow was so weird i'm sorry- but regardless i just wanna put it out there that the vow was inspired by a quote which i forgot the source but yeah i'm just saying that i was helped ig. Oh yeah and since i didn't want to just copy the corpse bride vow i just took the 'i ask you to be mine' part :) another thing- i tried to combine s4 eren's personality with s1-3 eren's personality- so thats why he seems uh CaLmEr? But anyway yeah see y'all next chapter]
