My headcanon is..... That he has a tuxedo cat.

Now, I do feel like he would be more of a dog person generally, but this cat is different... Because it is literally a cuddle bug and loves everyone.

I still can't decide on the gender of the cat so that's up to the reader's interpretation. Their name is simply Kitten- (It was what Joshua decided to name it.)

So how did Gordon acquire this fluffy feline angel?

Well, it all started when the cat started showing up outside his house, meowing rather loudly and sometimes pawing at the door.

He didn't open the door at first because this is some random ass cat. Like, go-away weird feline-

But after some time he started warming up to the small fluff ball... Joshua warmed up to the cat first though, like WAYYYYY before Gordon.
But I mean Joshua is a sweet ray of sunshine so I mean it was only natural he'd get attached so quick.

Eventually, Gordon took the cat to the vet to check for rabies, he wouldn't want him or Joshua to get that.
(Plus he sorta secretly also wanted to check if the cat was chipped.)

Good news!

The cat has no rabies and no chip!

They did need to give the cat some vaccines though, after signing the adoption papers of course-

Dr. Coomer has a bird end of story-

Okay no, I'll explain...

I just really want him to teach the bird to say "Hello Gordon!" repeatedly.

As for the species of bird, I'm going with a cockatiel, because they're iconic and most of the time really chaotic.

Also, I like the image of Harold having to handle this tiny little bird with a lot of care since he fucked up a lot of pigeons in Black Mesa and doesn't want that happening to his bird companion.

Btw the gender and name of this small cockatiel would be a female and her name is Penny.

You can figure out why her name is Penny in your own time-

As to why/how he got the bird... I imagine she was a rescue but knowing Dr. Coomer she might as well have been something he picked up from Xen.

Funny thing, I was gonna give Bubby a bird and Coomer a lizard of some sort, though I decided to switch it since I thought it fit their personalities better.
