Hey guys, gals and non-binary pals!

I just woke up to a damn fire alarm prank in my hotel the day of posting this, so bear with me for the editing. My brain is fucking dead.

So this chapter isn't in my usual witty style; I rewrote it like 5 times and it just didn't come together how I had hoped. It just feels really weird and... just...
UGHHHH
Who knows. I might rewrite it later.

Regardless of my crisis, I wanted to say
Thank you.
Seriously.
Thank you for all the comments and love; they really make my day.

Please read the AN that is published after this chapter!!!
I know it sucks, but it's important :/

I hope you all enjoy my writing!
Stay safe and happy :))

Keith was scrolling through their texts absentmindedly, waiting by the front doors of the school. It was a sunny Friday afternoon, and Pico was supposed to sleep over tonight. It was such a simple thing; friends did it all the time. But it was weighing on Keith like a bag of bricks as he waited, alone, for Pico.

It really didn't help that his ass was hurting from sitting on these damned concrete stairs.

The ginger had gotten another detention; this time for punching his lab partner for spilling some acidic shit on him and ruining his shirt. Pico had been moody lately, and Keith had yet to find out why. He wasn't about to pressure Pico into talking about anything he wasn't ready to talk about, though. That would be stupid, and while he knew Pico would never lay a finger on him, Keith was still learning the ropes of this whole 'friendship' thing.

Friendship.

Huh.

What a bittersweet word.

Keith was definitely having a crisis. He knew he like liked Pico; that was a fact. But... how? Boys were supposed to like girls, and girls were supposed to like boys. At least, that's what his parents always said. It just worked. But he knew he didn't - nay, couldn't - consider Pico a strictly platonic friend, at least in his mind.

And thus, he found himself having a bit of a... what's the word... mental breakdown on those uncomfortable concrete stairs.

Could a boy like another boy like this, he thought? Or, maybe there there something wrong with him? There had to be, right?

FUCK!

Why was this so damn complicated?!
