Level Up

**3rd POV

The green dragon and his friend were talking once again, almost as if they were bored with what was happening.

Or, lack of happening.

The city was boring with nothing happening.

"Aren't you excited, Drago? The players are all here, things are getting exciting!" The dragon's friend said, almost giggling.

The dragon, , scoffed, "Who cares? I want them all gone, I want the humans to be gone! Just like that they do to us! We can rule the world if we infect everyone!"

His friend just laughed, "You think too much about this, Drago. The puzzle pieces will fall into place soon enough. Besides, I have a plan."

"Ugh, fine! We'll do it the boring way." Drago complained, sitting back down.

**Bex POV

"There doesn't seem to be anything at all. Why are you so worried?" I asked.

My patient sighed, "It's just...being like this is different, I wasn't sure. I had to make sure I was still okay and not..."

"Losing yourself? Elena...you're okay, I promise." I assured her.

Elena was the Queen of Shadows for the past 5 years and always full of worry she would revert back to who she was when she first became a shadow.

As the doctor that treated most of the shadows in Mermaid River, I knew the most about their physiology.

Also, I didn't mind that they were different.

Others weren't so kind because of that, so even though Elena had moved an hour away for her teaching position, she came back here for appointments.

She sighed, looking down at her hands, "I'm just nervous, you know? It's too...perfect. I don't want it to go away."

"Yeah, I get it. But you don't have to worry about that, you're just as human as you were last time I saw you. You're okay, you're still you." I promised with a smile.

Elena still seemed worried, but nodded.

I never noticed how she looked older since she cut her curly hair so short, but she was always going to be stuck at the age of 20 forever now.

As I was going to reassure her again, my phone went off.

A text from Sky saying that Kyle was there and her dad wanted to see me in the Data Disease Unit.

I sighed and looked at her, "I have to go, will you be okay?"

Elena nodded, "Yeah, go. That's more important than me."

"Not true, but thank you. If you need me, you know where to find me." I told her, opening the door for her to go.

She gave a small smile, "I do, thank you again, Dr. Waters."

"It's Bex for you, your highness." I teased.

She cringed, "Ugh, don't, just...don't."

I laughed as she walked away, meeting up with a boy that was waiting for her.

I was glad she found someone that made her happy.

Then, I closed the observation room to head to the Unit.

When I got to the Unit, I saw three out of my four riders, which confused me as I didn't see where Oz was or even at all.

Josh was in the corner, near the coffee maker, putting way too much sugar in the mug he had, but he seemed to be in an okay mood.

Kate was brooding, like usual, giving dirty looks to most likely Sky and everyone in the room.
