themes: love, peace, admiration
love has always been a chase for me
running to intertwine calloused fingers
up until he slipped away without warning
leaving me behind in the dust of his wake
but as i lay here in the God's flaming sun
watching as you race the crashing waves
it feels as easy as the breaths you take
counting down until my lungs inhale you
in the serenity of the grandiose ocean
your fingers linger in the sand that falls
the power your body holds over the water
makes me surrender every beat of my heart
you strum the song of your softened soul
my eyes are lost in your melodic passion
art is what your fingers were born to create
but it is also the beauty in stories you carry
tell me your secrets in between the frets
the chords will echo them back and forth
i beg of you to write me a verse or two
and that is how i will know you love me
