Lily’s POV

You lay in bed looking at your ceiling, mulling everything over in your head. You liked Louis, Louis liked you. But he had stopped it, you were sure you were about to kiss in the classroom as well as in the drama performance yet he had stopped it both times. Tears began to stream down your face as you thought about how much you wanted him. He was so caring, so funny, so kind and generous, it felt like you had known him all your life yet you had only just met him. Just his smile and laugh could make your day happy. That night you cried yourself to sleep, only to dream about another loved up encounter with Louis, this was getting complicated.

Louis’s POV

“Lily we need to talk.” You said as you passed her at school. She paused and then nodded before following you to your office. After going inside you closed the door and locked it.

“It’s about the other day, isn’t it?” she said quietly.

“Yes. I’m sorry, what happened was not right. I haven’t been a teacher long and I need to become more serious about the whole thing. Inside I’m still just a guy who’s attracted to a girl.” As I said this I saw her look up at me and her eyes twinkled with hope. Oh no, wrong move, now I was leading her on. “What I mean to say is that there can never be anything between us, I need to classify that. It’s clear to me but I’m not sure it’s as clear to you.” She looked down defeated.

“I know, I’m sorry Louis…I just….” She trailed of nervously and I could see her eyes becoming wet. Oh god! All I wanted to do was go over and hug her! Well to be honest I wanted to do a lot more than that but that would DEFINITELY be leading her on.

“I’m sorry Lily. I’m a teacher, I’m an adult, you’re just a kid. It would be wrong. I’m sorry.” Suddenly she looked up at me with anger in her eyes.

“You think I’m just a kid?” she said angrily, gritting her teeth. Oh no, SERIOUSLY wrong move.

“No, I’m sorry I didn’t mean that….” She cut you off.

“I AM NOT JUST A KID! I’m TURNING 18 IN 2 MONTHS! I’M ABOUT TO FINISH MY LAST YEAR OF SCHOOL! LOOK LOUIS, I THINK I’M FALLING FOR YOU AND I CAN’T KEEP IT IN ANY LONGER! I KNOW YOU WERE CHECKING ME OUT, SO WHY CAN’T WE JUST BE TOGETHER? GO ON A DATE? I DON’T KNOW, ANYTHING!” she yelled frustrated and passionately. I just stared at her in shock before yelling back at her.

“I WANT TO! I WANT TO SO BADLY! CAN’T YOU SEE THAT? EVERYTIME I LOOK AT YOU I KNOW THAT I WANT TO GO OUT WITH YOU BUT I CAN’T! I CAN’T BE WITH A STUDENT IT’S ILLEGAL! IF OT GOT OUT IT WOULD RUIN MY WHOLE CAREER! AND WHAT IS EVEN WORSE IS THAT I DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT MY CAREER ANYMORE! I WANT TO BE WITH YOU SO BADLY BUT I JUST CAN’T!”  I screamed, releasing all the emotions I Had been holding in about her. She looked shocked.

“But…”  I cut her off.

“I think you should go to class now Lily, I’m sorry.” She left the room quickly and I sunk down onto my desk holding my head in my hands. What was I going to do?

You sat with your friends in a clump at drama, waiting whilst Louis handed back the practise exam results.

“I bet I failed.” Keira said, obviously just trying to get attention.

“You know you haven’t failed Keira, it is SO annoying when you say stuff like that. You are a smarty pants and you know it.” You said, not looking at Keira, but at Louis, who, you had just realised, had a really nice ass. Louis walked over to you and handed out all of your results. Keira stared at her paper for a second before her mouth spilt into a gigantic grin. I peered at her mark and saw 97%. Of course, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that she would blitz it. Louis stared at you and looked down before handing you your result, turning away. You looked down at the paper in front of you. 34%, you had failed. How could this have happened? How could you have failed? This is the practise exam! This is the test that is getting you ready for the biggest test of your whole life. You pulled your paper in close to you so no one would see, but not before Keira got a glance. She turned to you, pity in her eyes, about to say some pathetic sympathetic thing. Your eyes begin to feel wet, so you jumped up and ran towards the door, yelling loudly that you needed the toilet before sprinting out the door and into the rain, just as the tears began to flow. You ran into the toilets and into a cubicle, slamming the door shut behind you as you sat on the closed seat sobbing and crying. Angrily you punched the wall before pulling back your hand in pain, rubbing the bright red knuckles. In your outburst you hadn’t heard him come in.

“Lily, are you ok?” Louis’ gentle voice rang through the empty bathroom. You quickly tried to cut off your tears but more just replaced them. You heard footsteps coming towards you and you lifted both of your feet up off the floor and curled yourself into a tight ball. “Lily…” Louis trailed off as he saw you in the foetal position with the tear lines running down your face, your mascara smudging and your whole body convulsing with your sobs. With no hesitation he was next to you in a second, kneeling on the ground trying to see up into your face which was covered by your hair. “Lily, I tried to mark you easy but…. “ he trailed off, grabbing your hand and pulling it away from your face. You looked into his eyes and he smiled gently. “It really doesn’t matter, it’s only the practise exam, not the real thing. I’ll do whatever it takes from now on to make sure that you don’t fail the big one, I’ll tutor you every afternoon, lunchtime and before school, I’ll pay for an expensive specialist to come and help you, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll… ” He trailed off, lost for idea’s but simply supporting you by running his fingers lightly over your hand. You looked into his eyes, seeing all of his goodness and determination and leapt into his arms, sobbing harder as you hugged him, holding him in a way that briefly crossed your mind as being slightly inappropriate for a teacher. He hesitated, but slowly wrapped his arms around you as well, embracing you. His hug and his support just made you cry harder.

“But what if I fail again?” you whispered, fearfully from over his shoulder. Louis pulled back from the embrace and held your face between his two large, warm, strong hands.

“I, Louis Tomlinson promise that I will do everything in my power to help you pass.”

“Why? Why would you do that for me? I’m just some, boring, reckless, ugly, stupid troublemaker who doesn’t get good grades and has no future ahead of them.”

“You don’t know how wrong you are about everything you just said.” Louis whispered, looking down.

“But you’re the one who’s wrong! I am everything I said! And I’m never going to get anywhere in life!”

“No you’re not! You’re not boring, you’re one of the most interesting people I know! You’re recklessness makes you exciting and fun, someone who can come up with so many witty lines cannot be stupid, you play by your own rules and you’re confident, which I love, you’re grades are DEFINITELY not bad, you had an off day, so what? You definitely have a big future ahead of you, that much is obvious and Lily, you are BEAUTIFUL! How can you not see that? Everything about you makes you beautiful!” You stared at Louis in shock, who was panting from lack of breath.

“You think I’m beautiful?” you said, astounded.

“Yes. You are the most beautiful girl I have ever met.”

“Since when? Since I vomited on you?” you said, slightly teasingly, which earned you a smile from Louis.

“No, from the moment I first walked in that classroom.” He whispered.

You weren’t quite sure what happened next, but one moment you had been sitting on the seat and the next, you were in Louis’ arms, kissing him passionately and wrapping your arms around his neck, twisting your fingers in his hair. The tension had been too strong against you both and you finally let go and let yourselves be together. You were both so attracted to each other that you just couldn’t keep yourselves apart any longer. Louis held you tight against him, kissing you like there was no tomorrow. One of his hands which had been previously wrapped around your waist reached out and closed the door behind you, locking it, before reaching back and holding onto you. After a few minutes you broke apart, breathing heavily. Gently you leant your forehead against his and he reached up and pushed some of the hair out of eyes, playing with it until he let it go gently and stroked your face.

“I think I love you Lily.” He whispered, staring into your eyes, holding your face in his hands.

“I think I love you too.” You whispered. Louis moved in gently this time, brushing his lips against yours with a gentle sweetness which made your heart flutter.

“What are we going to do?” you asked, suddenly thinking of the complications of the situation. Louis was your teacher, you were his student. If anyone found out, there would be a lot of trouble. You also thought about what Louis had said the other day about not being able to be together.

“I don’t know.” Louis whispered, gently grasping your hand, “But we’ll find a way to be together. I was wrong about what I said the other day. I can’t not be with you, it’s killing me.” He said. And knowing in your heart how much you truly loved Louis, you had absolute belief in him that he would stop at nothing until you could both be together.
