Louis's POV

I sat at the table, my eyes on my phone which was gripped tightly in my left hand, whilst I prodded the pasta on my plate with my other hand holding a fork. I scanned the screen intensely, waiting for any hate to emerge or a trend to start, but nothing had yet and usually it would happen with this fandom. Sometimes I really hated being famous. Being followed everywhere was annoying, not getting any privacy was worse but people dictating your relationships, and sending hate to the people you loved was by far the worst. I thought of Lily, who would be at home right now, explaining it to her family, to her dad who she had worried wouldn't be supportive. I felt an ache in my chest as I realized she must be getting hate, I just couldn't see it. I had been seriously contemplating calling her back for the last hour after she had hung up on  me, but I knew that she had things to sort out. It seemed stupid that so much trouble was being caused because of a relationship. It was seriously beginning to get on my nerves how everyone seemed to think they knew what was right for me. What else was bad was that the fans had no idea how much they hurt everyone with their stupid jealousy hating. Maybe it would be different this time, the hate had stopped for Danielle, sure she got the occasional hate message but it was nothing compared to what it had been before, maybe after we had told them to stop so many times the message was beginning to sink in. As much as I wanted to believe it though I knew that it wasn't going to be easy for Lily, I just hoped she would tell me if she was getting hate so I could protect her.

"You alright there Louis?" Liam asked and I looked up.

"huh?" I said stupidly and Niall chuckled. "oh what yeah, just thinking."

"it's gonna be alright mate. She's strong, whatever happens she's gonna be ok." Harry said and I nodded and agreed quietly.

"I think I might go and call her." I said, standing up and taking my dish to the sink before going to my room upstairs.

How had this all surmounted to this? How had this all happened? I clutched my phone tightly in my hand as it ringed out as I called her.

"hello?" she asked sounding tired.

"Lily! It's Louis! Are you ok? What's gone on?"

"oh, not much, my dad won't really talk to me and my brother is in shock I think." she said with a weak attempt at a joke.

"are you alright?" I asked concernedly.

"yeah Louis I'm fine." she said simply, sighing and my suspicions Lil.

"have you had any hate?" I asked nervously and she sighed again.

"a little, but it's not bad." she said and I shook my head in disgust at who would send hate to a girl over something so stupid like this.

"Retweet any hate and the ones supporting you will gang up against them, it really works!" I said trying I cheer her up but she laughed weakly.

"yeah ok Lou, I might go to bed, I'm pretty tired."

"ok babe, how bout you come over tomorrow?"

"ok sounds good, love you."

"love you too." I replied and she ended the call. I sat on the bed and replayed the conversation in my head, trying to depict any hidden meanings or things she was trying to hide. After about half an hour in my room going over her words I gave up and went downstairs, maybe the boys would offer some support.

When I walked into the living room, I found the boys all gathered around the TV. Liam turned around and noticed me with a grim expression. This is when I noticed Danielle sitting next to him.

"what's wrong?" I said with a sigh walking over.

"it's everywhere Lou and well, their not uh, saying very nice things, well not them actually, their uh, mentioning tweets and calls and stuff.
