"Then why did it felt so real...?"

The memories haunted Tony. If only he could've saved him in time. He couldn't forgive himself. Let's track this back from the beginning.

~3 years ago, 2009~

Tony and Loki were heading to the Bifrost Gate to return to Earth, when suddenly, it happened. The Chitauris appeared and started to attack. The Asgardian and Jotun warriors helped them to fight them off, but there was too many of them. One of them grabbed Loki. Loki froze that Chitauri, but it didn't seem to do much. But he kept on fighting back, refusing to let himself to get capture by them. "ANTHONY!" he cried out to him. Tony heard him and tried his best to free him, only to get knocked out. The last thing that Tony saw was Loki getting dragged away. Not even Thor was able to defeat them all.

~Present day, with Loki~

It was nighttime at Joint Dark Energy Mission SHIELD Campus. Loki appeared after the Tesseract has opened the door for him. "Sir, please put down the spear!" Nick Fury ordered him. Unfortunately for everyone, including for Loki himself, Loki was not himself at the time. Loki used his specter's powers to fight the SHIELD people.

A moment of that chaos later, Loki went up to Clint Barton. "You have heart," he told him. He then used the specter's power to mind control Clint. Fury watched all of this happening. He knew Tony wasn't gonna be happy with this news. He took the Tesseract and placed it in a case while Loki was mind controlling another person. Fury was about to leave when Loki said, "Please don't." He turned to face Fury. "I still need that." "This doesn't have to get any messier," Fury told him. "Of course it does. I've come too far for anything else. You already know who I am. But what you don't know, is that I'm burdened with glorious purpose."

"Loki, brother of Thor. Stark's personal assistant and boyfriend," Selvig commented. "Stark is not my boyfriend!" Loki clarified that. "No, but you two are rather close, aren't you?" Fury asked him. "We were. But then he failed to save me and look at me now. I come with glad tidings of a world made free." "Free from what?" "Freedom. Freedom is life's great lie. Once you accept that, in your heart, you will know peace," Loki said as he mind control Selvig. "Yeah, you say "peace", I kind of think you mean the other thing." "Sir, Director Fury is stalling. This place is about to blow and drop a hundred feet of rock on us. He means to bury us," Clint informed Loki as he approached to him. "Like the pharaohs of old," Fury told them. "He's right. The portal is collapsing in on itself. We've got maybe two minutes before this goes critical," Selvig told Loki. "Well, then," Loki said while looking at Clint. Clint took out his gun and shot Fury. Loki and his team walked pass him as Clint grabbed the case and handed it to Selvig.

"I need these vehicles," Clint told Loki. "Who's that?" Hill asked him. "They didn't tell me," Clint answered. They all, but Hill, got in the truck with Loki riding in the back. Fury informed Hill that Clint was turned. Clint aimed and shot at Hill, but Hill dodged in time. Clint got in the driver's seat and drove with Loki and his team. The ride was very dramatic, but they did made it out before the collapse of the building could stop them. They saw Nick Fury in a helicopter, trying to shoot them. But Loki hit the helicopter with his scepter's power and brought it down to the ground. Fury still tried to shoot them, but they got away.

~Meanwhile, at NY with Tony~

Tony was at his new Stark Tower, just got finished fixing the power for it. He tried to keep himself occupied, trying to forget about Loki, but he couldn't. The God of Mischief became someone very important to him, and he couldn't even save him from those monsters that took him away. He sat down on his couch and took a glance of his old photos of him and Loki. He missed him so much. He hoped that he was okay.
