Audrey
I was sitting behind this.. Smelly, grumpy cowboy dude. Honestly if you ask me what the hell i might have been doing with him.. Like earlier..? I found it fun, especially how flustered he got. But that's not important right now. I have been sitting behind him for hours, and other than that teasing break, I never got to stretch my legs very well. My skin felt burned, my legs hurt, my coochie hurt. And honestly all i wanted was a nice.. Warm.. Bath..
We eventually made it into a town. We never found any water on our way, but we made it with what Jack still had. I hope my dad is here.. I can't wait to see him!
Jack rode his horse to a pretty large building before he stopped and got off. He tied his horse, whose name I never bothered to ask, to a pole before he helped me off. Again with his big strong hands holding me by my waist..He grabbed my arm and walked over to the door, dragging me along. I was getting really really tired of this man and his actions. But whatever. He knocked on the door and a very burly big man opened the door. "McKenzie. What are ye doin' here?" The big man growled. Jack pointed at me and then behind the man. "Got to speak to Madame. I found this lost fowl in the middle of the desert. Figured she'd be one of yous." Jack glanced over at me, but I couldn't quite place the emotion that sat in his eyes.
The big man looked at me over, a little too creepily or my comfort when he huffed. "That ain't one of ours, McKenzie. I can recognize our girls anywhere."
I was so confused when it suddenly hit me. Girls, Madame.. He thought I was a whore! I can't believe this. "Wait, Jack.. You thought I was a whore?" I stared at him in utter disbelief. What an absolute asshole..Jack stared at me, and then at the big guy before he stared at me again. "You're not..?" He asked, trying to make sure, making the big man laugh. "No Jack, I'm not." He looked so lost when I said it before he cleared his throat and pushed me to the side a little. "A mistake was made, shit happens." "Shit happens indeed. But if this.. Pretty girl is interested in a position.." The man looked at me again and I took a step behind Jack while shaking my head. "Ehrm.. No thank you, Sir.." I mumbled. I suddenly felt nervous. Jack wouldn't do this to me, right..?
And thank the Gods he didn't because he turned around, placed his hand on my lower back and led me away from the door. When we stood by his horse again, he seemed very uncomfortable. "Audrey. I apologise for what happened just there, i thou-" "Its fine Jack. I can understand why you made that link.." I felt weird about this and he looked awkward but then he just nodded. "Allow me to.. Eh.. Buy you somethin' to eat. As an apology, Miss." He said as he pointed over to a place across the street with a big sign above the door that read 'Saloon'. I nodded, I mean I was really hungry so.. I wasn't going to say no to that.
He led me there, still with that hand resting on my lower back, seemingly afraid that I'd be blown away by the wind or something.
He led me inside and it was crowded there. People were smoking, drinking, playing cards. And in the back there was a guy playing the piano. I mean I've always seen these scenes in old movies.. But I never actually thought it would be real.
"Never been to a saloon, girl?" I heard Jack ask as he walked over to a table with me, sitting me down on a chair, before he sat down on one in front of me. I guess he did have some manners at least.. "No, Sir. We don't have them in the city." I said, upping my volume a little because I was sure he wouldn't have heard me otherwise. "A shame, Miss Morrison." I just awkwardly smiled at him when he said that, and to my saviour a woman came to our table. "Good evening lovelies, what can I get y- Jack." The sudden change in her tone let me know something was off. "Eleanore. We'd like the stew and a whisky each, doll." He said, not even looking at her. I just sat there, baffled. She didn't seem to like him very much. "I don't think so, Jackie boy. you have a tab open. And if that ain't paid, you ain't getting nothin' Sir."Jack frowned and was about to say something when I decided to speak up. "How much is his tab, Miss?" I asked cautiously. The woman looked at me up and down before crossing her arms on her chest. "fifteen dollars, Miss." I heard her say and calculated. That was a lot of money for this time period. I smiled at her and nodded. "I'll pay. And add the stew and drinks with it too." I smiled at the woman and she returned one back to me but glared when she looked at Jack. "Shameless.. Letting a lady pay.." I heard her mumble before she left us to get what we wanted. Jack stared at me and I just shrugged.
