REALISATIONS***
When Spencer walked into work that morning, he immediately headed straight to his desk and sat down, he didn't even go to make a cup of coffee for himself. That's how everyone could tell that something was up with him. Spencer had a lot on his mind, the events that happened at the wedding replayed in his mind on a continuous loop. Isla had been prominent in his mind ever since they got back.
Flipping through the countless files on his desk, he wasn't sure if he was going to get them all done. Normally he would finish them all and maybe go home early, but with him being so distracted, he wasn't so sure. With every flick of a page, his mind momentarily filled with images of Isla. Sighing, he pushed back from his desk before rubbing his eyes.
"What's wrong with you, pretty boy?" Derek questioned, approaching Spencer.
"Nothing, I'm just tired." Spencer lied, moving his chair back over to his desk so he could continue working.
Derek could clearly see through his lie, "How was the wedding?"
"It was fine." Spencer answered.
"Fine? That's all you've gotta say?" Derek questioned.
"Yeah it was fine." Spencer said, flipping through his paperwork, not really paying any attention to it. All he wanted to do was for Derek to leave him alone.
"Did Isla enjoy it?" Derek asked, trying to get more of a conversation out of Spencer, knowing that he would always enjoy talking about Isla.
"Originally she didn't want to go but she ended up having a nice time, I think." Spencer replied bluntly.
Derek sighed, "Okay, I'll just let you get on."
Once Derek left him alone, Spencer's thoughts consumed him once again. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't stop thinking of Isla. He couldn't stop thinking about the way they danced. He couldn't stop thinking about the way her body was pressed tightly against his. He couldn't stop thinking about the way that his lips were only centimetres from hers...and he liked it.
Rubbing his hands over his face again, he stood up from his chair and headed over to the kitchen area to make himself a coffee. However he spent the entire time thinking, 'Isla would make this better'. Still staying in the kitchen area, he sipped on his coffee, letting the drink burn his mouth slightly. All he wanted was to get on with his work and forget about the entire thing that had happened between him and Isla at the wedding, he was pretty sure Isla had forgotten about it already.
"Spence?"
Spencer lifted his head to face JJ who was walking towards him with a concerned look on her face. It caused him to let out a quiet sigh, he knew that she was going to ask him what was wrong.
