Distance (Pt. 4)

Kuroo's POV:

My mornings over the past week have been the same:

I wake up.
Kenma isn't there.
I go to find him.
He's outside, 
on the back porch,
or on a random chair,
or even just laying on the grass.
But he's out there.

I thought this would be a one-time thing and everything would go back to normal afterward, but he isn't there when I wake up. One of these days, I had woken up randomly at 4:20 am, and I had turned to see if my boyfriend was still asleep. He wasn't there, so I went to go look for him. He was in the backyard, sitting on a garden chair with his face pointed towards the night sky. This had worried me, but when I went out to check on him, he told me that he was fine. I believed him, but it feels like he's drifting further and further away from me.

Today, he was meant to be going back to his house because our parents had returned from their 3-week business trip. It was an annual occurrence and Kenma stayed at my house each time. I looked at my phone to check the time; it was 10 am. I was cooking us some breakfast and listening to the movie that my boyfriend was watching in the living room. After I decided that the pancakes were done, I plated them and carried them to the living room, and placing them on the coffee table. The shorter boy smiled at the sight of the sweet food. Walking back to the kitchen, I grabbed a variety of toppings and went back to sit next to the boy and watch the movie.

(a few hours later)

We had finished packing up Kenma's things and were now on our way to his house. He had told me that he could leave by himself, but I insisted on walking the short distance down our street. As we walked, my parent's car came into view, with the Kozumes and my parents squished between all their luggage. "Kenma, look! They're back!" I said, turning to the small boy beside me. He lifted his head, and his eyes met the car. "Oh... okay. We should probably help them take stuff inside then." I nod in response, and we keep walking, watching the car park in the driveway of the Kozume residence. As the adults step out of the car, we exchange greetings and continue to help them move the luggage from the car and into the house.

I'm going to miss waking up next to Kenma.

sorry for the short update and the fact that I didn't update for over 2 months lol
I've been really busy with school work and... my personal life(?) recently but I'm trying to get back into my normal groove : ))
