Aurora's point of view:
It was Monday evening and after a long hard day at school, I found myself rushing home in a race against the inevitable consuming darkness of the approaching night.
It was exactly a year today since my sister’s freak disappearance and with no sign of my sister ever returning home, her return seemed impossible.
Slamming the front door shut I swiftly ran up the stairs to avoid any conversations with my parents and the ear piercing screeches and giggles of my younger siblings.
Ever since my sister had disappeared, everyday felt like a chore.
I was no longer the care free adolescent I once was deemed to be. In fact, I found the solitude of confining myself in my sister’s room my relaxation from the harsh realities of life.
Every evening I would sit at my sister’s window, longingly gazing into the distance in hope of my sister’s reappearance.
No matter what my parents said, I was never going to lose hope.
