Alice's point of view:

Before I knew it I was stood in front of a table set out under a tree in front of a house where the Hatter was sat amongst company having a tea party. Just like in my distant memories.

‘‘Oh Alice!’’ The voice of the Hatter droned, ‘‘how nice of you to come for tea on this fine December morn.’’ The Hatter cried as he rushed out of his chair and towards me. ‘‘Oh do come and take a seat!’’ He pleaded as he grasped onto my arm tightly, his hands clenched in a suffocating manner.

‘‘Please do help yourself!’’ A guest at the table insisted, his fake grin wider and slightly uneasy, his eyes red from exhaustion. ‘‘As you know, this party never ends!’’ He exclaimed setting a place at the head of the table for me to sit at.

Slowly pacing towards the seat I turned backwards giving an uneasy glance at the white rabbit to only be met by an intimidating grin.

‘‘Don’t be scared Alice, it’s just like old times, remember?’’ The Hatter stated as he began to pour a cup of strange looking violet tea before me and placing two fluorescent green sugar cubes into the tea.

Glaring at the tea warily I felt a sharp claw prodding at my side.

‘‘Drink up now Alice; you don’t want to be seen as rude, do you? Especially after all these years absence from the tea party, we all missed you so dearly.’’ The rabbit ordered, a fake and uneasy tone to his voice.

Placing my hands around the mildly warm decorated cup, I placed my lips onto the rim of the cup and drank.

My vision was slowly becoming blurry with my surroundings swiftly beginning to spin as deep malicious laughs began to emerge from the lips of each and every person at the tea party.

Confused and dazed my vision becoming consumed by an inky darkness as my heart began to pound loudly in my ears, I tried to steady the rapid pace of my breathing, hoping my uneven rhythm was not too obvious.

What was happening to me? What had they put in the tea?
