Part 2

LILY'S POV

It's the next day and the alarm wakes me up, with Dodger right next to me still snoring. I get up and kiss him on the head and give him some pets. He immediately follows me in the kitchen, waiting for his breakfast while I'm making mine too.

I prepare both of our meals, but before sitting to the glass table I go check my mobile phone and also the landline, hoping for a missed call or a message from Chris.

On the landline there's just a missed call from my mum, so I grab my phone and head to the table, where my hot chocolate isn't that hot anymore.

I turn on my phone and realize that Chris sent me a message while I was sleeping.

"Honey we just landed in Atlanta, we are going to the hotel now. I'm very tired and I'm sure you are asleep by now. Hope you read this when you wake up. I love you".

This is what Chris wrote to me and I feel relieved when I read it, but I read something that confuses me a little. Altlanta?

He never told me about any projects in Altanta, and usually he loves to tell me everything about his job.

I try to remember, maybe it's just me that forgot it or didn't listen to him when he told me. Most likely it went this way, Chris and I always communicate, we know always everything about each other, we are very honest and never hide anything.
It has been our constant throughout the years.

I keep drinking my "not so hot" chocolate, meanwhile I keep thinking about what to answer to him. I don't know if I should ask him about Atlanta or just pretend it's nothing and answer him as always.

To avoid any argument with him I decide to answer him quietly, and maybe I'll ask him about Atlanta when he will call.

"I'm so happy to hear from you, I was so worried, thankfully everything is alright. Call me when you have some time. I love you babe".

This is what I answer and I hope that he would call as soon as possible. I need to understand what's going on.
