Chapter 5: Harmless spells
*Tony’s POV*
(Tuesday)
I can’t believe that this is my punishment. I CAN’T DO THIS! I need my lab time! I was working on something super important, that will benefit the team and now I can’t work on it anymore-“Tony!” Loki called out to me, as I looked up, pouting. Rock of Ages walked over to me as we entered the tower.
“Yeah?” I asked, still unhappy. Loki smiled and chuckled, seeing my reaction.
“Oh, I see you’re still upset about your lab ban. But I was just asking whether you could help me on my phone? I want to create an Instagram account. I’m not quite used to your Midgardian technology,” he says, voice getting softer towards the end. Then, he thinks about something for awhile, before shaking his head. “Never mind, I don’t think I should be talking to you right now,” he says before leaving the living room. Before I could catch him, or tell him to wait, he’s gone. I feel so bad now. Loki was so excited to learn how to start his account, and then he just didn’t want to anymore. Probably because he remembered that he has a punishment. Sighing, I leave the living room and join the other Avengers in the dining room next door.
*Loki’s POV*
Biting my bottom lip, I exit the living room, and enter some other room. I look around. It seems to be a spare room. Sighing, I went to the furthest corner of the room and sat down, hands pulling at my hair, knees together, face planted in them. Tears brim my eyes as I suck in a deep breath. “I should have just killed myself when I had the chance,” I mutter to myself, my breathing still calm and steady. Good, at least I’m not panicking. Letting go of my hair, I try to make myself invisible, only to realise that Odin stripped me away of my powers, leaving me just a little to do harmless spells, and invisibility was sadly not one of them.I started sobbing. My cries filled up the room, tears cascading down my face like a river. My hands trembled. My body shook. My cries were let out.
Eventually, my tears calmed down and my sobbing was reduced to sniffles and whimpers. My hands were engulfed slightly in emerald mist, as little fireworks escaped my palms, the colourful sparks lighting up the dark room. Smiling sadly to myself, I shift my hands again, watching as the mini fireworks slowly fade away, leaving me all alone in the darkness once again.
“Loki? Oh Loki,” a familiar voice caused me to whip my head to the door, light flooding in. It was none other than Thor. Tears made their way to my eyes again, and he dashed in, wrapping his hands around me, leaving me seated in his lap. His long red cape covered my lap, and his fingers worked their way into my raven locks, each one of them weaving through the mess of black. “Little brother, why are you crying?” his gentle voice calms my nerves.
“I-I’m supposed to be on a-a punishment, yet I was s-so foolish to talk to Anthony!” I cry out and bury myself deeper into him. “I-I’m not supposed to l-let you all know I’m submissive, and I-I’m here for punishment but I-I-“
“There, there, brother, you have done no wrong. I believe that you hid your classifications out of good intentions, but you should have told us. We would never judge you,” his voice was like music to my ears, my whole body melted into him like putty. “And as for talking to Anthony, you are allowed to talk to them, you have done no wrong. Do not worry, brother. Besides, your punishment will begin next week, alright?” Silently, I nodded my head and Thor picked me up, and carried me back to the dining room, causing me to squeak and squirm as all the Avengers stared at us. Luckily, he put me down on a chair and I wiped my face, and looked down. I couldn’t bear to look at anyone today anymore.
“Hey, you alright?” Tony, who was sitting beside me, called out. I turn my head towards him, eyes still red and puffy, and smile weakly. I nod and he grabs my hand. I gasp.
“W-What are you doing?” I ask, a bit shocked.
“Comforting you,” was all he said as he drew little circles on my hand with his thumb and I relaxed. Smiling gratefully at him, he returned one back, and we waited for Cap to finish cooking dinner.
