Chapter 16: Mission Time
*3rd Person's POV*
(Thursday)
It has been 3 days since Tony entered sub-drop. The mechanic had thankfully gotten out of it, and is back to normal, but he is still upset that he can't use his lab until next week.
The Avengers were having a peaceful Thursday afternoon, when suddenly, Fury called them. Jarvis quickly answered the phone as everyone gathered around to listen to what was happening. "Avengers, and Loki, there has been a mysterious person spraying a gas that makes all the dominants very aggressive and the submissives very shy and scared. There have been a total of 3 attacks so far, and there is an attack currently happening now, in New York city. Your mission is to stop whoever it is and help all the civilians to safety. Stay safe, Avengers," and with that, he hung up.
"Okay Avengers, suit up," Steve, being the dominating captain he is, ordered and everyone obeyed. "You too, Loki. You've earned our trust, so you can come with us," the said god beamed with pride as he bounced off to change.
Soon, after all the Avengers got their gear on and their weapons ready, and gathered in the living room where Steve was about to come up with a plan. "All submissives go on the ground. We will surely be affected by the gas, and if the dominants get to the gas, we will be very aggressive, which is not ideal for us. So, submissives, take the ground and the rest of us will take the sky and try to tackle the mysterious person from there, okay?" Everyone nodded and they left to their respective vehicles.
-Dominants: Quinjet-
Natasha and Clint sat down at the pilot's seat, as Thor and Steve got their weapons ready in the back. Clint steered the jet to the central of New York, and true enough, there was a black clothed figure with a hood on, rolling cans of open gas cylinders on the floor. Civilians could be seen running in all directions, screaming and yelling in fear.
"Clint, can you try to shoot the figure there?" Steve asked as he walked up to the pilot's seat. The archer nodded and let Natasha do the flying, as he grabbed his bow and arrows, and from the door of the jet, he shot a few arrows at the figure, but it kept shifting from one place to another, and Clint couldn't focus. It was as if this person had either teleportation or super speed.
-Submissives car-
Bucky clambered into the car as he sat at the driver's seat, Tony beside him, Loki and Bruce at the back. Pushing his foot all the way down on the accelerator pedal, Bucky drove through all the traffic and swerved left and right to get to their destination as soon as possible. The poor doctor at the back clasped his hand over his mouth, looking as if he was going to vomit. Tony was yelling a little, as he held onto the handle above the window. Even Loki gasped as his body swayed along with the haphazard direction of the car.
Soon, the submissives arrived. Bucky stopped the car, the tyres screeching on the road. The soldier loaded up his guns, the mechanic readying his blasters and the god wielding his daggers, since his magic was still unable to be used. Clint let him have his daggers now, and he was squealing for 5 minutes straight as the archer chuckled. Bruce was in the car, typing out some codes for Tony's suit, upgrading some of the parts. If needed, the dominants would let him know, over comms, to hulk out. Bruce didn't like the idea of being used as a weapon, but he knew that if things really went out of hand, it would be necessary. Besides, Thor promised him to have a movie marathon after the mission. Yay movies!
...
As the dominants in the jet tried blasting and shooting at the hooded figure, the submissives all attacked from the ground, which distracted the figure. However, there was suddenly a cloud of deep red, and when the mist dissipated, the figure was gone. "Shit! We lost them!" Tony yelled and Steve added in a "Language!" over comms, which led Nat and Clint to chuckle.
