September 30th,
"Thank you all for meeting with us." Principal Hill said
Bucky Barnes was the last to come into the room. He sat in between his parents James and Winnie Barnes. Coach Fury sat down next to the principal.
"So we called this parent teacher conference because Mr Barnes grades are slipping below the average grade a athlete can have to be able to play and practice." Ms Maria Hill said
James and Winnie took a look at his grades on the paper they gave them. Winnie being a middle school teacher knew how to gage the grades.
"James.." she whispered
"What is the plan to get these back up?" James said
There was a knock on the door. "Come in.." Maria said
A blonde girl came in. "Sorry I'm late. Student council ran over." She said as she took a seat.
"Whose this?" Winnie said
"This is Joelle Grundy. She is one of our peer tutors, an AP student with a GPA of 4.2. We are pairing her with James here." Maria said
"As of right now James you are being placed on Academic Probation. That means no practice no weight training in the school gym. And no games." Coach Fury said
"But I want to play. Football is my life.." Bucky said
"I'm sorry Barnes. Rules are rules, and Ms Grundy will be checking in with me and Ms Hill about your progress." Coach Fury said
"This isn't fair at all." Bucky said as he walked out and slammed the door.
When the meeting was officially over James found Bucky crying against his locker in the freshmen hallway.
"Come on son. Let's get you home." James said as he helped him up.
After they left Joey got in her brother Cory's car. "Hey sis." He said
"Hey where is mom or dad?" She said
"Mom got pulled into emergency surgery and dad is working late at the office with Devin on a new murder case." Cory said as they pulled out of the school parking lot.
