(9) Flirty Fishing

Six months later 

"We only need two poles.." Bucky said 

"Actually little bro let's invite the girls." Brandon said 

"Uh..did you bump your head. I don't have a girlfriend." he said 

"Right? And who do you spend all your time off with? Ah that's right Joey. Call or text her up see if she wants to come. Hannah can pick her up if need be." Brandon said 

Bucky rolled his eyes. "It's called studying Bran you should try it sometime.." he said 

"It's called flirting. I hear more laughter and chatter coming from your bedroom then studying. Oh and you've had three sleepovers with her." Brandon said 

"Oh my god! Two of three times she stayed here was because it was past driving curfew. And the other time is because dad didn't feel it was safe to drive home because of the hurricane warnings.." Bucky said 

"So..she still stayed here. Why do you sleep on the floor Anyways?" Brandon said 

"I can't with you right now." Bucky said as he walked off. 

"Call her James!" Brandon said 

Bucky turned around. "Fine, but she's going to say no. She's a city girl Bran like she really wants to spend the day fishing." Bucky said as he walked off. 

He sat up in his truck and called Joey. 

"Hey Buck.." she said as she answered 

"Hey Joey..do you have plans today?" He said 

"No..the only thing I had planned was getting my oil change. Which I'm doing that now I'm assuming you have the day off since you aren't here." She said 

"Yeah I do. You are at the shop?" He said 

"Yeah, I was hoping to see you. Elijah is doing my oil change as we speak." She said 

"I'm sorry I should of told you. But um would you like to go fishing with me and Brandon. He said Hannah was coming too." He said 

"I would love too! I mean yes..I would like that.." she said 

He smiled as he looked down. "Meet me at my house we are going out in an hour." He said  

"Okay. Im almost done here." She said 

"Okay see you soon Apples." He said 

"See you soon Bucky.." she said and hung up. 

An hour later the two couples were loading up the boat. Brandon started up the boat as Hannah sat in his lap. Bucky had Joey with him in the other seat as they were driving around. She felt Bucky slid his hand into hers. 

He leaned down in her ear. "I'm glad you came.." he whispered 

She smiled at him. "Me too.." she whispered 

Brandon found them a good spot and stopped the boat. Bucky had Joey in between his legs as they started to fish. He showed her how to do everything before casting his line out. Brandon and Hannah were on the other side of the boat flirting and kissing. 

He was glad that his brother was distracted as he had one of Joey's still interlaced with his. They spent several hours out on the lake. They took a few selfies of their fishing trip including one with her first fish. 

At the end of their day at sunset they were laying in the truck bed of his truck. 

"Thanks for spending my day off with me.." he said 

She looked at him and smiled. "I had so much fun today.." she said 

"Joey, would you like to go to the spring fling with me?" He said 

She swallowed hard. "You want to go with me?" She said 

"I do." He said 

"I would like that." She said with a smile. 

"Hey James..it's 945." James said as he came out. 

"Thanks dad.." Bucky said 

Bucky and Joey had their fingers linked as they walked to her jeep. 

"Oh here this is your hoodie.." she said 

"No you keep it." He said 

He kissed her forehead. "Goodnight Joey. Text me when you make it home." He said 

"I will." She said as he opened her jeep door. 

He stayed on the porch till he made sure she was gone before going in. 

"Just friends my ass.." Brandon said as he came out of his bedroom. 

"Brandon mind your business." Bucky said 

"Just saying.." Brandon said 

Bucky slammed the door to his room and smiled. "Joey darlin what are you doing to me?" He thought to himself.
