"Why save me?"
Doctor Nefarious questioned. He wheezed in the medical bed, Rivet restrained him down.
"Why?"
He's supposed to be a villain. The bad guy leaves the good to defend themselves, betrayal common in their world.
Earlier, there'd been an accident. A robot malfunctioned and started to beat down the good doctor to a pulp.
For some reason, Rivet saved his life.
She punched the training bot.
The emperor sent Rivet down the barracks after their little talk. To stay until he said to return.
So she stayed.
Hour after hour of working off boredom. Training, fighting, even reading a book. It'd been interesting.
Then it appeared.
"The emperor sent me to spar."
Rivet nodded silently. The giant box she's long named the Boxer Bot took the start. She didn't have a choice in training.
It threw the first punch.
Rivet dodged to the side. Combat boots squeaking on the floor like an object on a metal pipe, she wacked its arm away.
"That all you got?"
It growled like a wild best. Eyes suddenly becoming a menacing red, the robot charged. It sprinted faster than she anticipated.
Barely making her way, she snarled and tripped with the handle of her hammer. It accepted the trick and skidded to the floor.
It grew enraged.
"General."
A new voice arrived. Whipping her head around, she spotted the doctor counterpart oblivious of the conflict arising.
"Target."
'No.'
Rivet's panicked thought came true. The robot charged at the doctor, the mentioned screaming in fear at the unexpected event.
Everything happened in slow motion.
Dr.Nefarious got knocked down. Landing straight into the wall, robot arm crackling. Electricity spliced in the air.
"HELP!"
Leave him. He's done of his own fault.
'Help him. Your not betraying lives!'
The two fought once more. Rivet shook in either anticipation or fear. She couldn't tell.
Hesitantly, she met his eyes.
Screaming, pleading silently. Mercy to be given. He wanted to die or be saved. Rivet's choices were two.
'Save him.'
