The imperial hall was a chamber highly decorated with sculptures both the walls and ceilings. It has life sized dragons for columns and each window had painted scenes of old Illerian empire. The floor was made of pure white marble with intricate designs. Cray and Alveo stood in the center of the hall both have a faint grin and determined faces.
"Oh LeGrande, will she be okay?" Emerald said worrying about Cray. "You remember how powerful he was when we were kids, right?" LeGrande smiled. "You have no idea how crazy strong Cray is. She sealed a dragon in Myoku's mind." LeGrande assured her. "Did you just say dragon?" Emerald asks surprised. "Uh-huh." LeGrande confirmed. "Seriously?!" "Yeah. Well, at least that's what River had told me." He smiled confidently.
And so it began. Cray charged at Alveo, her eyes glowing white. Alveo stepped forward then vanished. Cray halted, confused. Suddenly a pang came to her in the face as a hand materialized, clenching the top of her head. The two are suddenly in Cray's mind. To mind manipulators, having a battle in your own mind is more difficult than the other way around. The intruder can bring up and read thoughts of weaknesses. The first one to touch the opponent will have the advantage of entering one's mind, thus being the first one to take control, unless the latter has stronger mind manipulation skills.
"But does she know what happens? Sometimes the winner of these type of battles gets damaged." Emerald thought to herself.
River shakes his head and muttered, "Cray, I hope you can do this."
In Cray's mind, everything was dark and empty. The only thing present were the two fighters. However, using his power, Alveo conjured walls turning the empty space into a dark room. "Damn it." A staff materialized in Cray's hand, and she took a battle stance. On the other hand, a long katana materialized in Alveo's hand, and he sprinted straight at Cray. Cray raised her staff, parrying the blow of the sword while Alveo continued to force the blade down brutally on Cray's staff, smiling excitedly. "Oh, I know you have something you're hiding, Cray Dunn. Something... very interesting. I love fighting the interesting ones!" he said grinning. He lunged his sword forward at Cray's forehead. Cray gritted her teeth, docked and spun to the side, just avoiding the fatal blow. She grinned as she swiftly slammed her staff on Alveo's chest, sending him flying backwards in one straight direction. The area of the wall where he hit crumbled. "Heh." Alveo chuckled as he cracked his neck side to side. He charged forward at an incredible speed. He dropped his sword, grabbed both of Cray's wrists, then charged forward continuously while facing her. Cray struggled relentlessly but was unable to escape. Alveo then crashed her with his incredible strength, right into a wall. Cray screamed in pain. Alveo placed his head on her forehead and continued to crush her with more and more force into the wall. "Come on! Show me your stuff! Your full power!" Alveo growled. He tightened his grip on Cray's arms, his eyes turning scarlet red. His canines becoming sharp and beast-like. Black flames formed at his feet slowly growing higher. Cray, gritting her teeth, let out a powerful scream as her hair and eyes turn a brilliant glow of white. Wings slowly unfolded on her back breaking the wall behind her. White smoke surrounded Alveo. It slowly grew thick and tightened around his body strangling him. "S-so that's what it is. Cool." Alveo said smiling although he's in terrible pain. Alveo and Cray continued their battle, both still strangling each other.
In the real world, their audience can see them standing still. Alveo was still holding Cray's head, his hand shaking as though forcing something out of it. Cray's eyes were still pure white and she's holding Alveo's arm. River and LeGrande watched the battle silently. Emerald cannot be calm about it, though. She worried so much about Cray. Just then, two voices came out from Cray's mouth saying "We call this a draw!" Van Buren smiled when the two fighters let go of each other and returned to the conscious world. They collapsed panting.
