CHAPTER XXII: EMERALD LEATHERWOOD VERSUS SEOUL SANDABADO

The people in the viewing room waited for the fighters to start as the computer changed the battlefield. As the battle chamber turned into a war zone, the fighters remain standing on their places glaring at each other. Helicopters dropping bombs appeared, so as soldiers shooting at each other but the fighters did not moved an inch. They didn't seem to care about the bombs nor the soldiers. There were metal walls arranged like a maze, providing lots of hiding areas. Many things are on fire. Emerald started walking in the battlefield but Seoul stood still, eyes fixed on her. "What's the matter too dirty for you?" Emerald asked. Seoul started to walk in the arena empty handed. "Ugly twig." Seoul said. Emerald smiles sweetly and said, "Twigs are useful, you know. You can grow so much from them. See where it's been," she picked up a twig from the battlefield "...and change them into your true wish." she wills the twig to grow into a spear. "That's a cool weapon!" Myoku said in the viewing room. Seoul just smiles sweetly. "Now then, I won't be healing you after this." Emerald said. Seoul remained unfazed, still smiling sweetly. "That is if you can give me even a scratch... Twig." she said. She stopped in front of a metal beam where a hologram soldier hides. Emerald smiled, took an attack stance and quickly threw the spear at Seoul with dead eye accuracy. Before the spear hit Seoul, lightning threads surrounded her. The spear burned to a crisp. "So... this is the ultimate defense I've heard about." Emerald said. 

"Why would you smile Emerald? This isn't a battle you can win." River said in the viewing room. "It is interesting though. Lightning can only work so well against a single object." LeGrande said. "Do not underestimate our girl." Raiza said. LeGrande and River look at Raiza. The Lord of the Sandabado clan smiled with pride. 

Seoul, still not moving an inch, asked "So what have you heard about Raikoshubi, Twig?" Emerald didn't answer. She thought, "She's baiting me. But I won't fall for it. The Raikoshubi is their ultimate defense. It creates an electrostatic shield around the person. I can't touch her directly in that case. I should attack from a distance." She took something out from the pouch on her waist. Seoul saw what Emerald did and she thought, "She's planning on something. From what I know, this girl is a long distance fighter. Better be careful. Or she'll give me a scratch. No good. Guys will definitely not like that. Can't even stand the thought." However, she remained standing, smiling sweetly. "Getting seeds to make another... twig?" Emerald opened her palm and blew what looked like sand. When Seoul saw this, she knew it would be an attack. She closed her eyes and willed. 

"Dance." Emerald commanded. Sand-like petals surrounded her. Seoul shouted "Whirlwind!" her voice echoing in the air. Emerald willed, "Earth Element: Dance of Roses!" The air suddenly bloomed with white rose petals moving in different directions. The petals then grew long vines and they lashed out over much of the area creating a forest-like room. At the same time, a whirlwind formed under Seoul's feet, lifted her a good ten feet off the ground away from the vines. Emerald vanished into the rose vines while Seoul back-flipped and landed behind a metal wall. Emerald then appeared behind Seoul and she smiled. "Sorry, drag queen. But this battle is not for you." Seoul was surprised on how Emerald sneaked up behind her that she was not able to move. But just then, a helicopter flew over them and dropped a bomb. "SHOOT!" Seoul was more surprised about the bomb that her survival instinct activated her reflexes. She push Emerald away with a wind blast. Emerald landed on her feet from the force of the blast a couple of feet from Seoul. She willed a wooden shield to grow over them to save them both from the bomb. The bomb exploded on the wood shield leaving the two fighters unharmed. Suddenly, a huge metal box fell on the ground, and split open revealing a whole army of men circling around Emerald and Seoul. "I'll let you see this one through." Emerald said as she turned into a tree. "Are you stupid or what? Aren't you afraid of me burning you alive?" Seoul said sarcastically.

The army started firing at them. Vines shot all over crawling around the metal walls. The arena became a thick forest because of the rose petals and vines Emerald created. The battlefield shook and released a black cloud. Seoul did multiple back-flips moving away from the firing squad and the thorny rose vines. She landed on top of another metal wall a few blocks away from Emerald. She forms a triangle out of her two index fingers and two thumbs infront of her chest then chanted. "Gods of the wind, hear my plea! Bestow thy power unto me!" Electric threads formed around her hands. She extended her arms side-ward and willed, "Lion's Strike!" Multiple branches of lightning struck the ground and metal walls, then elongate toward the firing squad. The rose forest burned. "You aren't that clever, are you? Those are holograms." Emerald said from within her tree. "Like... duh? As if I didn't know? All these were created by our military technology, moron! Any idea of killing them, then?" Seoul asked.
