When I sat down at the table it was a wonderful sight that met my eyes. I had always loved my food so as Esme finished serving up I could only looked in awe at all the food in-front of me. It was almost as if they had known that I was coming even though I didn't even know that I was coming. They had everything from freshly baked bread to pancakes, from pizza to macaroni cheese. I was highly enjoyed it but I got the feeling that it was just serving as a distraction from Anna's secret, I mean she had seemed really secretive and then she did stall until dinner was ready. This made me more curious but I had to wait a little bit longer until I could find out. After dinner when I was still feeling full and happy, Anna and I went through to my bedroom but I was too happy and full to ask her what the secret was in-case it was bad and I might not have been able to cope.
A while later I decided to ask, working on the theory that it couldn't have been that bad, I also knew that I had to word it carefully I saw how angry she can get.
"Um... Anna can I ask you a question?"
"Sure Elizabeth what's wrong?" She replied.
"It's just I think that I would like to know the secret please. Don't worry it wont ruin our friendship, you are my best friend after all." Anna looked at the floor before looking me directly in the eyes. It made me shiver but she then opened her moyuth and said;
" Well you see I can't come out during the light because I have highly sensitive skin and so the sun burns right through it. That is why I didnt come into school a couple of days ago because the light could have killed me and that's why I'm so pale." She seemed a little ashamed of what happened to her and so I put my arms around her neck and told her.
" Don't worry, we are still best friends and thank you very much for telling me. You see my brother thought you were a vampire, but I did tell him he was being rediculous." I laughed and she joined in befiore Esme came up the stairs to get us to take Anna home.
