A/n: People! I'm going to introduce someone to you. This person is not in any of the existing books you have read but will come up soon. Is he an important character? Maybe. We will find out.

Chen's POV
The thing about meeting someone for the first time is the uncertainty of what they look like. He could be chubbier or thinner or even uglier than the photograph he sent me a while ago. I looked at it as I scanned the restaurant for his face. I hope he didn't leave. I'm half an hour late thanks to Theo. He didn't want me to leave and strangely, I didn't want to leave either. There's something endearing about him.

"I'm so sorry I'm late." I beamed at the handsome man in the photograph. He stood up immediately. He's in uniform. He smiled at me and we both suffered from nervousness over what to do next. Four years and we are meeting for the first time!

"You look even more beautiful that the photographs." He smiled at me. He took the first step. He settled his hands on my waist just above the curve of my hips. He surprised me when he dipped his head and he kissed my lips. It was quick but pleasant. My first kiss. My heart performed several summersaults. I sighed with an obvious blush.

My fingers traced the metal badge on his shirt. "I didn't know you serve."

"Have a seat. Please sit down." He pulled out a chair for me.

This is what I have been dreaming of all this time. I'm finally in the same space as he is exchanging real words and not letters. He's handsome. He's dreamy. I may as well float away.

"I'm so sorry I kept you waiting. I had to change my clothes."

"You look good... much better than the photographs... really beautiful. You will look good in anything."

"As you look good in uniform. I didn't... You didn't mention that you serve. Air force? Army? Navy?"

"All of the above. I'm diverse."

"A man in uniform. I'm sorry I'm shamelessly gawking at you! You're handsome."

"Thank you. What would you like to eat?"

"Anything!" I laughed nervously feeling overwhelmed. Who am I kidding? I can't keep it together! I'm spiralling over him!

"I'll order your favorite dessert. We can start with some peach cobbler. Waiter!"

He made his way towards us. I chewed on my lower lip.

Hann is the reason I skipped Beijing. When I got his letter just before I left the island, I hurried to the Riviera to meet him. This is the man I want to marry; not someone my nai nai picked from the catalogue of rich Asian heirs. I'm not looking to marry into money. My father has taught me that there's more to life than money. He has a lot of it but he never acts like it. My simple life on that island has shaped much about me. I don't want a rich man. I want a man who makes me feel like there are butterflies in my stomach. I want a man who made me fall in love just by the words in a letter. This is the man I want.

"Is there something wrong, beautiful?" My brown eyes won't separate from his. He reached across the table to hold my hand.

"This is better than the letters. Hann please forgive me but i wasn't raised to keep my opinions to myself. I will come out a bit outspoken. I don't want the letters anymore. I want it like this. Face to face."

"I am not an expressive man. Words don't ooze out of me like they do from my pen. I happen to enjoy the letters and I would like to keep that going. But I admit it's nice to finally meet you in person. Let's just savour the moment."

"Can we go somewhere more intimate? I... There are many people here."

"Yes of course! What did you have in mind?"
