haneul never thought this day would come. the trees were dancing, the kids were running around happily, a gentle breeze flows and it freshens the air around, and importantly she and the boy she just met chilling by the park, watching the beautiful sunset. it was perfect. the moment, every second feels perfect. at least to her.
"this feels nice" she said. jeongguk hummed and turned his gaze to her. staring at her while the breeze shoves her dark brown hair softly as her eyes sparkled while watching the sun, her milky skin with tinted pink cheeks that he would like to poke.
"mandu" her cheeks look like mandu.
"what?" she raised her eyebrow, confused with his statement. jeongguk widened his eyes when he realized he spoke his thoughts too loud. "nothing, just...whatever" he rolled his eyes. she giggled looking at his flustered face.
"are you hungry? you want dumplings?" haneul asked. he shook his head and heard her giggles once again. "well i'm kinda hungry, but i don't have any food at home yet" she mumbled. of course jeongguk heard it with his super hearing, making him stood up.
"wait here, i know a place that sells the best mandu" he said as he grabbed his stuff and dashed his way to the place. she was surprised to see his action. she can't help but to smile like an idiot as if she got accepted by her crush.
suddenly, her phone rings as the word 'eomma' appeared on her screen. she immediately answered and was glad to hear her mother's voice saying that she's at home already and that her battery died, that's why she can't answer haneul's calls.
"i'm at the park mom, and i think i'm gonna be home a little late" she secretly smiled. after a few minutes of talking to her mother on the phone, she wanders around the park once more as the air turned chilly. as much as she wanted to go back home and lay down at her beloved bed, she still waited.
more minutes had passed and she is still waiting for him. the previous orange-yellow colored sky is now dark and filled with stars as the cold night wind breezes, making her body shiver. she looked at the time showing it's already 7:18 PM and jeongguk still hasn't come back.
in fact, he never did.
