"why did you leave me that day?"

"please don't talk to me, you'll waste your time"

"then i'll send you letters every day"

jeongguk mentally cursed to himself with haneul's question and statement attack. currently, they're in the hallway of their apartment on their way to the university. haneul's short legs are trying to catch jeongguk's fast pace. gosh, damn you tall people.

"can you just leave me alone?"

"you're weird" haneul pouted.

jeongguk widened his eyes and stared at her with the 'excuse me?' look making her shrugged her shoulder. the elevator 'ding' as they both got inside.

the silence between them is killing jeongguk inside while haneul mentally smiled. to be honest, she is very happy to know jeongguk is her neighbor. and she hoped he feels the same.

"we should go to classes together every day" she spoke.

"no"

"yes"

"no"

"no"

"yes-, wait what?"

haneul smirked as they both arrived at the lobby. she got out and skipped happily while jeongguk stood there dumbfounded. lowkey, he tried to hold back his smile but then back to his cold-stern look.

he doesn't understand why haneul is doing this to him. his heart is beating faster every time he's with her and it's hard for him not to get nervous. he wonders, does haneul felt the same?

students gasped when they saw haneul and jeongguk got inside the class together. she secretly rolled her eyes seeing their reaction. what's wrong with her going to the univ with him? is everyone dislike him that much? why society is very judgmental and rude?

all she knows is that jeongguk is a shy-quiet boy who is adorable and kind. yes, he did leave her that day but she is sure there's a reason behind it. no matter how much haneul thought about hating him, she just can't.

he's too broken and why people can't see that?

"yah, pssst haneul"

she glanced at her friends who are giving her a confused look. she sighed and knew what they're going to ask.

"why are you with him? and how? didn't i tell you to not be near him?" suran asked. daniel nodded while munching his snacks, waiting for haneul to answer.

"well, it turns out he is my neighbor so we're gonna go to classes together now" haneul smiled.

"what?! are you out of your mind?! he is a freak"

"suran, can you just stop screaming"

suran rolled her eyes and glanced at jeongguk who's wearing his hood, sketching something on his sketchbook. he looks unbothered and it irritates suran even more.

"what is he planning.., did he do something to you?"

"no, he is a cute goofball" haneul giggled.

daniel choked on his snacks and suran's jaw dropped. the two are lagging and still in shock while haneul smiled, staring at jeongguk who's now made eye contact with her.

she smiled wider and jeongguk just stare at her. not giving her any reaction back, he broke the eye contact and continue to sketch. haneul pouted at this but still thinks his actions are cute. he just needs a little push from her for him to show his true self.

because behind those cold empty eyes, she knows there's once a bright cheerful boy, and she's going to bring that boy back.
