the clock strikes 12 showing that it is lunchtime. students quietly sighed in relief and stretched their bodies due to the long hours of boring lectures. the professor announced a couple of things and finally left the class. suran and daniel groaned at their seat as they walked towards haneul who's still scribbling on her notebook.

"come on haneul, let's go to the cafeteria," said suran.

"you guys go ahead, i'm still finishing something" haneul spoke while biting her lip. she went into full concentration mode once daniel and suran left the class. now, she is the only person who's inside the class, frowning and mumbling to herself like a madwoman.

after 7 minutes of bickering to herself, she stood up with a big smile on her face while staring at her notebook. "this is close enough" she said completely satisfied with the result. now all she needs to do is to find him.

"where could he be.." walking outside the class, her eyes wander around the university that is filled with students. okay, maybe the timing is wrong. how can she find him in the middle of the crowds?

"he never spoke with anyone. he's always alone and always went to the rooftop at break times"

rooftop, bingo.

her short legs quickly made their way towards the rooftop. once the door opened, she breathes in the fresh air as the breeze softly hits her face and hair. the weather was wonderful, the sky was clear as can be, and the sun was shining bright glistening its warm light.

then there's him.

"jeon jeongguk...there you are" she mumbled, still catching her breath. jeongguk was laying down at the bench with earphones on, flipping through pages of his sketchbook. she can only see half of his face but he is gleaming. with the sunlight hitting his gorgeous skin, the wind that made his soft hair danced, his smile grew as he flipped more pages of it. haneul's heart races every time she took a step closer.

he noticed her presence and quickly glanced at her. his eyes went big and hid his sketchbook. kinda gives haneul a deja vu.

"hey..sorry didn't see you there" he immediately sat straight while taking his earphones off. "no it's okay, can i sit next to you?" she smiled.

"yeah, sure" he scooted a bit giving haneul some space to sit. "what are you doing here?" he asked. "i was searching for you," she said while taking her notebook and slowly opened it. jeongguk's eyes couldn't hide the curiosity why she was searching for him. the fact that she searched for him made him feel things.

he doesn't eat butterflies but why he can feel them inside his stomach?

"i want to show you something but don't laugh at it okay?" she showed up her pinkie to him. "okay i won't" he smiled and pinkie promised her. haneul then flipped the page and a sketch of him appeared.

silence filled the air as he slowly took the book and stared at it for a while. every single detail of her sketches, he memorized it and a deep chuckle came out from his mouth.

"hey! you said you wouldn't laugh"

"i'm sorry it's just—"

he continues to laugh while haneul hid her face because of how red it became. his bunny smile grew bigger when he saw a little heart on it. he glanced at haneul who's still looking away and thought to himself, did she put it there intentionally?

his cheeks became rosy pink and coughed to break the ice as he gave back her notebook. "it's cute...i like it" he said. "really? i'm not a pro like you so i'm not surprised if you said it's ugly" she looked down.

"no, it really is cute, good job haneul" he patted her head gently. this is her first time hearing him calling her name. it is like a melody to her ears. the way he softly patted her head made her heart flutter.

—and that's when she felt the spark.
a spark of butterflies inside her stomach.
