Chapter 14

SIMON'S POV:

I looked at her, confused.

What probelm?

I turned to Julian and Laurier. Their faces were grave.

I looked between them and Emily.

" What probelm?"

Emily said,

" Your phermones caused a large disturbance. We will have to answer for that. They might blame you for not taking necessary measures for your heat. Your heat might have triggered ruts and harmed not only you but also innocents."

Laurier nodded and said,

" If it was any other student, he/she might have been expelled. But as it is you, we might be able to save from explusion. But the problem is....."

" ....they do not discriminate among anyone. Which means you might get the same punishment like any other student."

Julian finished for him.

Three of them looked at each other gravely and then turned towards me.

I didn't know how to react. I had always been taught to keep a clear mind and not panic. So that was exactly what I was doing now. Sitting there with a solemn look on my face and thinking over everything.

I finally said,

" We....better get going. To the headmaster's office. If we delay it any further, the situation might get worse. Let's just get the worse over with."

They all nodded. I got up and put on my jacket. Emily went to have a word with the half-conscious alpha prince.

We waited outside. Emily finally emerged and put on her jacket. She brushed the stray hairs from her forehead,rubbed her tired eyes,gave us a tired smile and then said,

" Let's get it over with."

I nodded and said," Let's get it over with."

We walked to the headmaster's,Professor Scott's office. I slowly knocked the door. I heard a clear, deep voice say,

" Enter."

I opened the door and entered the office. Laurier,Julian and Emily followed me. I looked at the man sitting behind the wooden desk who was gazing through his window. He closed his eyes,took a deep breath and turned towards us.

His eyes fell on me. I returned his stare.

" Simon Styx." he said, almost like a whisper.

I got down on one knee and bowed. This was the way we show respect to elders and higher ups in Louisa.

Laurier and Julian followed me. Emily did that bow sort of thing Heleanians did.

Professor Scott raised his hand, gesturing us to get up.

I cleared my throat and started to say,

" We are here--"

" I know."

" South Wing--"

"I know."

" Heat--"

"I know. "

"Phermones--"

"I know."

"Commotion--"

"I know."

I suppressed the urge to scowl at him. He wasn't even letting me finish my sentence!!

He looked at me with his startling blue eyes and calmly said,

" I know about the commotion caused in the South Wing. I know who caused it and why. But I want to know why you all are here"

He tilted his head, as if waiting for something.

Then I remembered that the original reason why I was here was to apologise for the commotion.

I took a deep breath and said,

" We are here to apologise. Actually I am here to apologise for the inconvenience caused."

A satisfied expression filled his face. He nodded and said,

" Very well Prince Simon. No one knows about this incident except me and a few higher ups. I would ask you to take necessary precautions next time. I understand that you have never used suppressants before, but I must ask you to use them. As this is your first time, you will not be expelled."

I sighed in relief.

"But you will be punished" he looked at Emily and asked," I assume that Prince James is wounded?"

Emily nodded and said,

" Yes sir. I am afraid it might take him sometime to recover completely. "

He nodded and said,

" He is excused from classes. Now this returns us to your punishment. You will help Miss Emily attend to Prince James. You will also take necessary notes for the classes he will be missing..."

Julian interrupted him,

" Sir, I don't think that would be very appropriate. You must keep in mind that Simon is the crown prince of Louis while Prince James is the crown prince of Helean. I don't think either of us will be comfortable with this arrangement."

Professor Scott turned towards him and said,

" I am very sorry Mr.Julian. I cannot change my decision. I hope you all would let go of this petty enmity. We will not tolerate such behaviour again."

He then fixed his stare on me.

"And after Prince James recovers, both of you will receive 3 weeks of detention."

Emily said,

" But sir, why James??"

He said,

" Miss Emily, James used a memory spell on everyone standing in the corridor where Prince James was. I understand that Prince James was compelled to do so under the situation, but rules are rules. He will face detentions along with Prince Simon. This is my final word."

I looked at Emily. Her face was white.

She stuttered,

" H-h-how d-ddi-did y-you k-know t-that h-hh-he c-cc-cast a m-mmm-memory ss-spell?

He faced her and calmly said,

" I get that psionists are very rare, but being one its natural I would recognise one. So...I think that's all."

We walked out of his office to the East Wing. Emily kept wringing her hands and glancing at us.

I kept thinking about what Professor Scott said . The alpha prince was a 'psionist'. I had heard myths about them, but I never thought they were actually real.

I looked at her and said casually,

" So psionists are real?"

She turned to me and her eyes scared. Then she took a deep shuddering breath and said,

" I might as well tell you. You might already know. Yes he is. No ordinary one. I am a white level psionists. White level psionists are not powerful ones, we only have healing magic. But he....he is a black level psionist. And...and....he doesn't even know it. It's very dangerous to be such a high level psionist because they are literally hunted. His mother was the only psionist in her entire clan and unfortunately he got her genes. More trained psionists like Professor Scott know how to control their scent. But he doesn't. No one was supposed to know this....but now...."

She turned and walked away, wringing her hands.
