Chapter 5: Road of Despair

The deal was made and you looked at Tsumugi smirking at you. The deal you knew would be a bloody risky and shady deal but it was exciting.  The two of you decided to go meet the others so they wouldn't get suspicious.
  "Now don't trip and drown in your own tears." You commented looking at Tsumugi.
"Oh haha." Tsumugi rolled her eyes. "You better do a good job at acting."
"Trust me they won't know a thing." You assured and she smirked.
"Just what I would expect from you." She evilly smiled and put her hands behind her back.  The two of you made it and you saw Gonta holding the cover to the manhole without struggling.
"Woah! How strong are you?!" You questioned your eyes wide with shock  walking up to the group.
"Gonta strong to protect friends." Gonta cheerily replied and placed the cover down. 
"Ah Y/N Tsumugi you're back!" Kaito happily exclaimed. "Shuichi was wondering what happened to you Y/N."
"I-I-I was not!" Shuichi yelled covering his face with his hat and you giggled.
"Thanks for worrying about me Shuichi." You giggled and placed your hand on his shoulder. You looked down into the manhole trying to see how deep it is.
"Its too dark to see clearly but there's definitely cold moist air drifting up from it." You informed the group.
"Th-This place is really creepy. Are we really going in there?" Tsumugi nervously asked peering into the hole.

"I'm sure it's fine. At the very least we definitely won't die down there." Kaito assured her with a small grin appearing on his face.
"Do you want me to go down first?" You asked looking at the others.
"N-No! Y/N its too dangerous!" Shuichi yelled from what you could see he looked genuinely concerned.
"Thanks for volunteering Y/N but maybe I should go first you know make sure it's safe?" Rantaro suggested with a sly smirk on his face. "It is awfully quiet where are Monokuma and the Monokubs?"
"I was certain they would show up at some point and crush us like rotten gnats..." Korekiyo muttered.
"Nyahahaha! They probably haven't noticed yet!" Angie cheered with a huge smile on her face.
"So all the more reason to go down before they notice!" Kaede proudly declared.
"So do you want to go first?" You asked her and she stared to scratch her head.
"N-No if you want to you can." Kaede nervously stuttered.
You rolled your eyes and without a second thought you jumped into the hole. As you were falling you heard Shuichi, Rantaro, Kokichi, and Miu gasp. You softly landed on your feet and you felt the cold ground. You looked around and it was a really large open area and it didn't seem too dangerous at first glance.  You looked up and saw the others huddled around the hole.
"Are you okay?" Shuichi asked.
"I didn't think she would just jump." Rantaro commented his green eyes wide.
"You could have just taken the ladder stupid." Kokichi said looking down at you.
"Is it safe?" Miu asked.
"Yeah it's safe at least it seems to be safe and it's quite large so just come down!" You yelled to them and directed them to come down. Trusting you they all came down and looked around.

  "It's more spacious than I thought it'd be." Ryoma stated.
"Yodelay-heee-hoooooo!" Kokichi yodeled with an excited expression on his face.
"What is this place...?" Maki asked.
"An old industrial passageway I suspect...Perhaps factories once existed here?" Kirumi wondered examining the room.
"And this is all that's left of 'em." Kaito said.
"Hey look at this." Rantaro ordered and pointed at a sign that said exit. "What a considerate sign. Apparently the end of the tunnel is the exit."
"A sign thats labeled exit...that doesn't seem suspicious at all." You sarcastically replied rolling your eyes.
"Hahaha! Dont pee yourself in fear! Your natural scent is bad enough!" Miu insulted placing her hands on her hips.
"I'm not scared and if anyone smells bad it's you! You smell like cow poop!" You glared at her and she instantly backed down.
"Well if you're not scared Y/N go ahead. No point standing around here." Rantaro smiled pushing you towards the exit.
"No need to worry! It looks a bit dangerous but we're all Ultimates here! As long as we work together everything will work out just fine!" Kaede cheered trying to encourage everyone her eyes were confident as if she truly believed that everyone wouldn't lose and she walked up right next to you and so did Shuichi.
"Y-Yeah you're right." Shuichi said looking at Kaede.
"That's exactly what I was gonna say! We're really on the same wavelength Kaede! Gimme a hug!" Kaito beamed holding out his arms and walking up to Kaede who had a disgusted look on her face.
"Um yeah no." She replied.
"Hey you don't have to hold back! We're two of a kid y'know?!" Kaito winked.
"Hey you two quit flirting. Cant you read the air?" Kokichi laughed.
"W-We're not flirting!" Kaito yelled getting closer to Kaede.
"Whatever she isn't comfortable hugging you leave her alone." You stated pulling Kaede closer to you and farther away from Kaito.
"Typical degenerate behavior!" Tenko yelled giving Kaito a death glare.
