You were among the last ones to arrive. As you raced into the library and you saw Rantaro's body. Your eyes widened and it felt as if your heart stopped.
"Ahhhhhh!" You and Tsumugi shrieked. You wanted to collapse and cry. You were feeling a mixture of emotions and even if you knew the truth seeing a friend dead it hurt. "Rantaro is dead...oh wow..." You trailed off your face pale and you were shaking so badly that you felt as if you were going to fall.
Kokichi looked at you and then grabbed your arm. "Woah Y/N stay calm. It's just a dead body."
"Just a dead body are you crazy?!" Kaito shouted.
"Kehehe my my what a world this is so full of jokes like this." Korekiyo laughed.
You tried to regain your composure and you walked towards Shuichi and Kaede who were standing by Rantaro and they both had a concerned look on their face.
"Are you okay Y/N?" Shuichi asked and you nodded your head yes.
"So can someone explain the meaning of this to me?" Kirumi asked.
Then Monokuma appeared. "Thanks to the First Blood Perk there won't be a class trial so that'd just be a waste of time. With that said if you're the blackened who killed Rantaro raise your hand!"
"The one who...killed Rantaro?" Tsumugi asked.
"I knew it! A degenerate male killed Rantaro didn't he?!" Tenko shouted pointing her fingers at all the males.
"How you know boy do it?!" Gonta exclaimed.
"I just know okay!? Violent crimes are almost always committed by violent disgusting men!" Tenko growled.
"Tch...that dummy! How dare he go and get himself killed!" Kaito yelled his eyes shut and then he looked at you. "Y/N did you kill Rantaro?!"
"What?!" You and Shuichi shouted in unison.
"She was the last person seen with him so it would make sense." Maki commented her red eyes glaring daggers at you.
"Y/N is that...true?" Shuichi asked a frown on his face.
"Rantaro and I went to the bathroom obviously we separated to the different bathrooms and I started to cry and Tsumugi found me crying and then we went to the dining hall. Rantaro must have went to the library after but it wasn't me who killed Rantaro." You calmly explained to them and Shuichi let out a sigh of relief.
"Tsumugi can you confirm it?!" Kaito barked causing her to jump.
"Yes I can." Tsumugi quickly and confidently vouched for you causing Kaito to back down.
"Not even in a class trial and already accusing people! Hahahaha! Now to the person who killed Rantaro raise your hand." Monokuma instructed and everyone looked around at each other with anger, sadness, and distrust in their eyes but no one would raise their hand. Then the Monokubs appeared.
"No one is stepping forward how strange." Monophanie commented.
"Puhuhu I see how it is. The blackened has no need for the First Blood Perk. They would rather do a class trial." Monokuma laughed.
"Excuse me?" Kirumi asked tilting her head.
"Very well then. I will give the blackened what they want and hold a class trial!" Monokuma announced and everyone gasped.
"Wow!" Monotaro exclaimed.
"Now this is a spicy twist!" Monosuke laughed.
"W-Wait...What the heck's going on?" Kaito asked forming a fist.
"Like We said before we're gonna hold a class trial so you can find Rantaro's killer." Monosuke began.
"Get it right and only the blackened will be punished. But if you get it wrong everyone else will be punished!" Monotaro announced.
"Everyone besides the blackened...Everyone..." Kaede frowned rubbing her arms she looked as if she was going to cry.
"This outcome is much worse. The culprit should have just stepped forward." Maki sighed.
"But before we can hold the class trial you gotta investigate first. If you don't investigate the murder you won't be able to argue over who did it." Monokuma stated.
"We have to conduct an investigation and then do the class trial and hopefully convict the right person. This is horrible." You complained looking at the ground. You felt a hand on your shoulder and you looked to see Shuichi giving you an encouraging smile.
"We're only guaranteed this moment right? Tomorrow isn't promised or guaranteed only this moment is that's what an extraordinary diplomat told me. Let's make this count and bring Rantaro's killer to justice. We can do this together. You aren't alone in this moment we're both alive. I know you'll bring out the truth." Shuichi stared into your E/C orbs with an encouraging and motivating grin on his face. Your eyes were wide realizing that he remembered what you said but something about that also filled you with courage and hope.
"Let's do it." You smirked.
"All right! The trial will begin soon so please give the investigation your all!" Monokuma said waving his paw and him and the Monokubs left.
