Chapter 11: She's the One

Josh's POV

Oh my god that was so embarressing. I cried infront of Adara like an idiot. After all the times I've made fun of her, looking like a big shot. I'm so stupid. But if felt so good to finally release all my feelings to someone, even just telling her made me feel better. The way she looked at me

We are walking back to her place, but I don't want to pass by my house, and I feel myself halt in the middle of the side walk. My hand is still holding Adara's, I can't believe she actually let me hold it. My hand just automatically went to reach for hers. I couldn't help it. I feel like holding on to her makes me feel soo much better and safer. Having to hear my mom fight and argue with my dad hurts so much. Its like watching the most important people you love hate eachother right in front of you.

Besides, it wasn't my dad's fault, it was no one's fault. It was just the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Josh? You okay?"

I return back to reality and see Adara looking at me with this concerned look. I'm so glad that there's someone who actually cares about me. I look right back at her brown eyes.

"Yeah, sorry I'm okay. Its just that I don't want to pass my house. I don't want to go near there." I tell her squeezing her hand.

I can see her cheeks light up a bright pink.

"Umm okay well where do you want to go?" She asks me.

We can go behind my house to her house. That's a good idea.

"I have an idea." I pull her towards the backyard of my house.

"Okay."

We walk through the little opening of my gate to my backyard. I pull her and we walk fast passing my backyard until we are infront of a hole that's made through the wooden gate. I made that hole when I was younger, I was mad that my soccer ball went over next door so I broke the fence and got the ball. Yeah i know i was pretty stupid I could've asked Janely, but I was too shy back then.

"Are we going through here?" Adara laughs pointing at the hole.

"Yes, the only way to get through."

"This is very odd. How did the hole even get there?"

"Let's just say I was young..." I cover my face with my other hand, shaking my head.

"Haha OKAY. "

I dreadfully let go of her hand slowly and I make a motion for her to go in.

"Ladies first." I smile.

"Thank you kind gentleman." She jokes laughing.

She goes through the hole and stands up.

"Okay now it's your turn!" She whispers.

"I'm coming I'm coming." I tell her

I get on my knees and bend down and crawl into the hole. I pop out on the other side and I see her standing above me smiling. She holds out a hand.

"Need a hand?" She smiles moving her arm up and down.

I smile and take it. God, she is so sweet. I get up and stand next to her.

"Thanks friend." I tell her joking.

"Oh so we're friends now? Haha i see." She laughs.

An awkward silence takes place and then she says.
