The vampire from before walked out of the bathroom, before running back in when she saw us, and pulling out her phone.
'Hey Mitch-'
Max tackled her to the ground, silencing further words reaching the phone. He plastered a piece of duct tape- which would really hurt when it was taken off- across her mouth, and stuck a needle into her arm. This was all done in the blink of an eye, literally, and the next thing I knew, an unconcious vampire had been tied to the sink pipes.
I looke wide-eyed and impressed at my mate, and suprised him with a long kiss. I then pulled away saying:
'Come on, let's go do this thing.' But I didn't let go of his hand. We snuck down the corridor with Topaz, Amethyst and Maya, and shifted as soon as we reached the south facing door. I mind messaged the humans to climb our backs and they did.
We ran through the forest, claws sinking into the ground and wind rushing past our faces at 100 miles an hour. The vampires were hot on our heels, and we weren't just running for freedom, this was a matter of life and death. As the blood-thirsty vampires approached us, I weakened and slowed, messaging Max to carry on. He refused and stayed next to me. Time slowed as I reflected on my life, family, and generally the people in my life who were important.
My mum. I knew there was a part of me that would always despise her. She was still my mum. My role model. And I couldn't imagine what would happen to her when she was caught. She would have a painful death, maybe even be tortured, and my dad and siblings along with her.
My dad. He had always led me to be a stronger and willing person. He had taught me most of what I knew. He was a loving and noteworthy man whose life would be lost because of me.
My siblings. Their soft faces smiling adoringly up at me in my mind. These beautiful images merged into those of horror. The nightmarish scenes graced me. Blood and sick coated every inch of their skin. Their teeth were crooked and hair matted. But that wasn't even the worst. Their eyes. The deep portals of emptiness. Fear and anger directed at me poured openly, silently from these eyes. Not an ounce of hope, love or happiness.
Then their mouths. They opened into silent screams. The man with the syringe approached them from the shadows, and they looked directly at me.
They pointed to the man and pleaded to me. All mute. I shook my head and, deeply affected, began to run with Max again.
But I needn't have worried. The humans got off of my backs. Thats when it became really weird. As if my life could get any more supernatural, I began to glow, and all the people on our side climbed onto me knowingly. I began to speed and knew where I was going. I lifted into the sky, the vampires' teeth grazing my feet as I flew into the sky. I went to a strange opening in the clouds, and it began to snow. I got to some kind of platform in the sky, and stopped glowing. Max, Maya and Mum looked confused, whereas Topaz and Amethyst had a mix of relief, respect and pity in their eyes.
'What the HELL was that???' Max shouted at me. Maya started gabbering about some story she heard when she was little, and Mum's eyes welled up with tears.
'Mum? MUM? Why are you crying?' I shouted worridly over the fast increasing howling of the wind. She looked up to me.
'I thought this had all gone away. Chad said it had, anyway.'
Those words angered me, and I struggled to compose myself. I then looked at her and asked her to tell me the whole story.
